  • 8 slices of bread
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • Powdered cinnamon, to one’s taste
  • Powdered cloves, to one’s taste
  • 2 strong cups of tea
  • 4 cups of milk

Directions
  1. Spread butter on the bread and put the slices at the bottom of little soup tureens or big cups (two in each one).
  2. Sprinkle sugar, powdered cinnamon and cloves and pour half cup of tea and one of milk (both almost boiling).
  3. That’s all.
  4. If you want, you can toast the bread in a frying pan, sprinkle them with sugar or cut them in circles.

This brings back memories... my Great Grandmother did something like this but with coffee...I was young and i can't quite remember what she did but it was good.. ^5 thank you..

This is aperfect idea! I'm not a breakfast person, but I could start the day with this, and I know my kids would like it!


This brings back memories to me as well. My Mom placed toast rounds that had been buttered and sprinkled with a cinnamon sugar blend. Ohhhhhh, it was soooooooooo good. Haven't had it in ages. You've got my 5 forks!!!
