A few weeks ago I was in a hospital waiting room and although I brought my own magazines to read I found this recipe in one already there...Can't remember which one but I'm ashamed to admit that I tore the page out and brought it home....Haven't trie... More

Ingredients
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tbls. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tbls. cocoa powder
  • 1 tbls. flour
  • 2 oz. semisweet chocolate chips, finely chopped
  • 2/3 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 pkg. puff pastry sheets, thawed

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. In mixing bowl, mix ricotta, 1/3 cup sugar, vanilla and 1 egg until combined
  3. Stir in cocoa and flour
  4. Add chocolate and walnuts and stir until combined
  5. On lightly floured surface, roll out pastry sheets to 12 inch squares
  6. Cut each sheet into 9-4 inch squares
  7. Add remaining egg with 1 tbls. water and beat
  8. Spoon 1 1/2 tbls. of chocolate filling into center of each square
  9. Brush edges with egg wash
  10. Fold in half diagonally to form triangle
  11. Press with fork to seal edges
  12. Put onto baking sheet
  13. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with remaining sugar
  14. Bake for 14-15 minutes or until browned on top
  15. Cool on racks
  16. Dust with powdered sugar before serving

More than likely there are no inquisitive and adventurous cooking freaks for whom a doctor's office magazine (old as they are anyway!) hasn't held a temptation. I, too, have done that same thing, wynne and do not regret it for a moment! You have my thanks for both the post and the pilfery and also my ^5 for BOTH!
