How to make it

  • If desired, remove skin from chicken
  • Place chicken in a large ziploc baggie and set in a shallow dish
  • In a medium bowl, combine buttermilk, 3 T chives, lemon juice and zest, and garlic.
  • Pour marinade over chicken and seal bag
  • Marinate in fridge 4-6 hours, turn bag occasionally
  • When ready to grill, remove chicken from bag, drain, and discard leftover marinade
  • Preheat grill to medium high
  • Place chicken thighs, bone side up, on grill and reduce heat to medium
  • Cover and grill 50-60 minutes, to 180 degrees
