How to make it

  • Mix corn starch and sugar; add 7-Up and food coloring.
  • Cook until thick; cool at least 2 hours and pour over fresh strawberries in the baked pie shell.
  • Cool at least 2 hours before serving.
  • *No exact time for filling to thicken*

    had to let you know, I made this pie and brought to inlaws, it vanished quick and everyone loved it. Our aunt got some "goo" on her arm near elbow and was licking it off! LOL I can barely remember Shoney's pie but I tell you this was good. Still get a 5 from me and from everyone that ate it.

    I love strawberry pie. It was my dads favorite. Years ago we had a drive in called "The Viking Inn"that made the best strawberry pie. Maybe this is their recipe. I'll have to try it and see.
