How to make it

  • Mix all ingredients together except preserves and beat well until smooth.
  • Pour into greased round cake pan and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Heat preserves in saucepan stirring constantly until almost boiling.
  • Remove from heat and cool 2 minutes then spread over cake then cool before serving.

    bugger ate it and said...
    Baked at 375. Wet to dry ratio very off-- had to put in another half cup of liquids. Flavor ok

    Cat, this is just different enough to require trying out soon. It has an old-fashioned feel in the ingredients and simplicity.
