How to make it

  • In saucepan, combine all ingredients but onion and egg
  • Bring to boil
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes
  • Cool to room temp.
  • Put eggs and onions in jar
  • Cover with vinegar mixture
  • Refrigerate 24 hours

    This sounds great! I absolutely love German food. I do have a couple questions though since I intend on making these.
    1. The 2 Tablespoons of mustard, is that ground dried, yellow, dijon?
    2. Which variety of onions work best?
