How to make it

  • Melt candy bars and 1/2 cup of butter in saucepan over low heat.
  • In large bowl, beat remaining 1/2 cup butter and sugar until mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  • Stir together flour and soda; add flour mixture to batter alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition.
  • Stir in melted candy mixture, vanilla and nuts.
  • Turn batter into greased and floured Bundt or 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until top springs back when touched (top will be quite dark).
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove to wire rack and cool completely.
  • The Bundt pan form makes the cake very appealing to the eye, though I suppose any cake pan may be used.
