How to make it

  • Melt the butter; add the brown sugar and cook over low heat two minutes, stirring constantly. Add the milk and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil and cook for about a minute. Add confectioner's sugar and keep mixing until the frosting is of a spreading consistency.
  • Poor over cooled cake immediately. Let it sit and cool completely before serving.
I made this recipe to frost a 9"x13" cake. For fun I wrote the recipient's first initial out in chocolate chips.   Close

    This sounds over-the-top!! Krumkake puts it on sugar cookies, and plan on making the leftover cookie dough in the freezer into football shapes for the BIG GAME. Anybody know a crafty trick to a football cookiecutter??

    We love this frosting too. Really good on chocolate cake ...which my mother requests for her birthday every year. My favorite is this frosting on spice cake ...YUM!!!
