Penuche Caramel Pan Frosting

- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup half and half (or milk) shopping list
- 3 cups sifted powdered sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Melt the butter; add the brown sugar and cook over low heat two minutes, stirring constantly. Add the milk and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil and cook for about a minute. Add confectioner's sugar and keep mixing until the frosting is of a spreading consistency.
- Poor over cooled cake immediately. Let it sit and cool completely before serving.
I made this recipe to frost a 9"x13" cake. For fun I wrote the recipient's first initial out in chocolate chips.
