Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 cup half and half (or milk)

3 cups sifted powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Melt the butter; add the brown sugar and cook over low heat two minutes, stirring constantly. Add the milk and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil and cook for about a minute. Add confectioner's sugar and keep mixing until the frosting is of a spreading consistency.

Poor over cooled cake immediately. Let it sit and cool completely before serving.
