Almond Butter Cookies Recipe

This is a favorite cookie for us at Christmastime. Plan ahead. These need to chill in the fridge prior to rolling. Obviously, the serving will vary dependant upon the size of the cookie cutter you use.

Ingredients
- COOKIES:
- 1 & 1/2c. sugar
- 1c. butter
- 8-oz. cream cheese; softened
- 1 egg
- 1t. vanilla
- 1/2t. almond extract
- 3 & 1/2c. flour
- 1t. baking powder
- GLAZE:
- 1c. powdered sugar
- 1T. butter; softened
- 1/8t. almond extract
- 1-2T. milk
Directions
- COOKIES:
- Cream butter, sugar & cream cheese until fluffy.
- Add egg and extracts, beat until smooth.
- Stir together flour and baking powder, add to butter mixture.
- Chill until easy to handle.
- Roll dough out and cut with cookie cutter.
- Bake 8-10 min. @ 375F.
- GLAZE:
- Mix all ingredients together until you reach desired spreading consistency ... adding or subtracting milk as needed.
