How to make it

  • Mix everything - except shrimp, of course - up until you have a nice thick glaze.
  • Brush on skewered shrimp, pop on the grill and cook until pink on both sides. Absolutely delicious....good the next day cold for lunch, too!
  • Would also make a nice appetizer for company.

    This is a fantastic sauce for shrimp! Love the flavor combination; however, it is really sweet, but a good sweet that pairs well with the shrimp. Keep in mind that the flavor will vary significantly depending on the type of BBQ sauce you use. I used a sweet, homemade bourbon sauce that I normally use with pork. Probably too sweet, but I added a tad bit more pepper to offset the sweetness. Due to rain, I tossed these under the broiler, flipping so both sides could brown. It doesn’t take long. A couple of minutes on each side.

    The sauce has a really nice flavor. I liked the red pepper flakes in this. It helped cut the sweetness. I think fresh minced garlic would really be great in this. More in IMI 5/14/16
