Flo's Hot Dogs is on Route 1 in Maine and it's only open 11-3 and they only serve one thing...Hot Dogs. Order one with sauce and you get this relish. Order a special and you get it with mayo, this relish and celery salt. Read more ...Sounds like an odd combo but gotta say it's one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. I went looking for a recipe for this relish online and this is what I came up with. Tastes like the real thing. I used the stove top to make this but can probably be made in a crock pot too See less
Ingredients
- 2 lbs yellow onions, chopped shopping list
- 1 cup molasses shopping list
- 1/4 cup white vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 tbls. crushed red pepper flakes shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. hot sauce shopping list
How to make it
- Put onions and crushed red peppers in food processor
- Chop fine
- Add all ingredients to saucepan and heat until simmering, stirring constantly
- Simmer 8 hours
