This recipe is made for garlic lovers. You can use less garlic if you prefer. You can usually find tahini near the peanut butter in the grocery store.

  • ¾ cup water
  • ½ cup tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • 5 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 6 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 (19 ounce) cans chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained

Directions
  1. Place first 3 ingredients in a food processor; process until smooth.
  2. Add juice and remaining ingredients; process until smooth, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.
