Ingredients
  • • 1 cup butter (2sticks)
  • • 2/3 cup milk
  • • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • • 4 eggs
  • • 3 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • • 1 teaspoon salt
  • • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • • 2 teaspoons soda
  • • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • • 4 cups coarsely chopped, peeled apple
  • • 2 teaspoons allspice
  • • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
  1. • Cream the butter, add sugar slowly and continue until light and lemon colored.
  2. Beat in eggs.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt.
  4. Add to cream mixture with the milk.
  5. Stir in apples, nuts, vanilla and spice.
  6. Spoon into 4 (9x5x3 inch) greased loaf pans.
  7. Bake at 300 degrees for 60 minutes.

I love apple bread! The apples make it so moist. I especially love using gala apples or grannie smith.
You are so right about changing it out to give you variation!
...you can add just a pinch of nutmeg if you're out of all-spice (but not 2 tsp!, just 1/2 t. or less)
...you can add raisins, too!
This is good and versatile!
