Ingredients

How to make it

  • Saute onion, peppers and garlic (and any other veggies that you like) in oil, over medium heat, until tender.
  • Add dash of kosher salt and pepper.
  • Add meat to the pan, and heat through, 2-3 minutes
  • Add tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder and cinnamon.
  • Stir to combine and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add chicken broth, slowly, stirring to combine.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. (it will reduce and thicken...add more chicken broth if needed for proper consistency).
  • In a skillet, heat up corn tortilla, on both sides, in small amount of olive oil
  • Remove tortilla from skillet and transfer to plate
  • Add large spoonful of guisada mixture to tortilla and top with cheese and fold over, like a taco.
  • Serve and enjoy!
  • Great served with beans and rice, too!
