Yeah we aren't 100% sure yet. We originally thought we would have both, but that might be overkill. If we go with forums only, then there would need to be tight integration with recipes.

Groups really aren't meant to be a place to discuss too much. More of a place to add recipes and occasionally read/write messages.

I can go on... and on... but let the subjects be up to the participators like in any discussion group?? Can that be done.

Honestly -- being an Admin to a message board/forum myself -- forums can get messy with postings (nothing is easy to find cuz it's by posting date, etc.). Don't get me wrong, there's a place for forums, but I really like how orderly the groupings work here. You're asking for a lot of work with forums.

why not have a look at the topics people have started for the groups...
seems like those with the most interest could be extended into forums...
i seriously want to be able to ask questions and discuss within the groups rather than just post recipes...
if i just wanted to see recipes i could use the search engine to get a list of recipes....

i thought the groups were going to be like mini forums...

i am an admin on another forums which i helped to structure- it's one of the biggest on the internet...
and as long as you structure it well- it's not hard to navigate at all...
but you do need moderators who can move or delete things regularly to keep things tidy...
