3 cheese mac crock pot

By Shirleyoma. It's not your standard creamy mac and cheese recipe. Ricotta cheese gives it a grainy texture I'm not used to. Cut the butter by half if you plan on making this dish.

Why, thank you. Don't want the food police chasing me around.
Keep the salt shaker near by also.

Thank you so much Points! I'll wait to hear what changes you made before I try this. So let us know. Would love to see the picture also!

I made no changes. I was just suggesting changes for next time it's made. Go ahead and make it. The dish stands well on its own. If you like butter then you might thoroughly enjoy the dish.

I use butter as I would salt. It is a flavor enhancer. Too much overpowers the main ingredient.

Yes, I just saw that! Lots of butter on top! Yeah, I think I'll definitely cut down the butter a bit. Still looks good though.

Hello, pso. Its my opinion that it is more constructive to this site and the recipes posted if people actually make the recipe and rate it a 4 with the reasons why they did rather than just rate a recipe a 5 because it "looks good." Like I stated, that is just my opinion. But that is why I am happy that lillian created this group - so those of us who actually do make some of the recipes posted here can compare and share notes.

I appreciate everyone who has joined and are sharing results with us. Thank you!

Four forks is a good rating. Sorry to say many here think a 4 is undesirable. I try not to give out a 5-fork rating unless the recipe is exceptional.

This group notwithstanding, the recipes should be critiqued well on the individual recipe page. I never rate a recipe until after it is made and tasted. There are still some foodies out there that make the recipes with their eyes and give a 5-fork rating without ever putting a spoon to pot. When I see it, I try to contact the individuals asking them to wait until the recipe is made.

As for this group, It is a nice group, albeit redundant. All of the comments on recipes here should be put on the individual recipes. I think this group is more for lilliancooks benefit, all a nice neat little package so she doesn't have to get out there and do any research. Think maybe that's why this group is lacking in participants.

Sorry lillian, it's just my spin on the group. I will not stop posting here. Not trying to be nasty at all.

Oh my, Points..not trying to be nasty...isn't that a bit redundant of you? ahh...

I believe this group is a great one to bring attention to recipes that some of us might have missed. I don't see it as any one member's benefit, certainly not the group owner's...if you hadn't noticed there are quite a few that have enjoyed hearing about recipes they have never thought to search and I am sure they have left comments on the recipe pages once they have tried them albeit not quite as 'tactful' as yourself....

Hey again, pso. I don't think you're trying to be nasty although I can't speak for lillian.

This is my take - I think there are so few participants in this group because so few people at GR actually cook what they rate. That is why I was so happy to see lillian form this group. Other people are actually cooking the recipes here! I have made around 90 recipes I have found here and post a comment on them all when I rate them, many of them stating what I did different from the recipe as posted.

Its pretty hard to do research (at least from my standpoint) when you head to New Today and everything but one or two recipes is a 5 forker already! I'm with you - I'll rate a recipe after I make it and I respect you for doing that as well. That is (for me) what the ratings are for. If it "looks good" click on the "looks good" tab, but don't rate it. Again - my opinion!

So that's my spin on the group. :) I'll happily be back tomorrow anxious to see what has been added.

I take back my comments about Lillian earlier in this thread.
This IMI group has turned into a wealth of information.
I think people have found that commenting in these reviews strings let them open up more fully than what they would put into the recipes comment section.
IMI reviews are, as best as I can describe it, once removed from the recipe review. It takes control out of the hands of the recipes author as far as censoring comments and pictures.
