Applebees Baby Back Ribs

    Recipe by Dragonflylady13.

A good recipe. My first rib recipe that was boiled. I was apprehensive. It was not as fall off the bones as Tony Romas copy recipe but still quite delicious. I love Mesquite smoke.

Yeah...I don't like to boil my ribs either! I guess this could be done w/o boiling. They look finger lickin' good! I like the way you frenched the bone on your serving! Now I'm craving ribs!

I have not a clue about what frenching the bone means.

The ribs were still mostly frozen when it was time to put them on. So they went into the water just like they were. Lousy timing on my part. Probably the reason they were not quite fall off the bone done.

The only thing I know about preparing the ribs is to make a short cut between each rib to help the eater separate the bones when consuming. I didn't even do that. If it's anything else, I didn't do that either. It's just the way the ribs turned out.

GR is a PG site. Watch your innuendo.

Points, I believe what Lillian meant was it looked like they were frenched cuz in the one picture the bone is pulled away from the meat (which occurs when ribs are good and ready) She must've thought you "frenched" them. Like a frenched pork chop in fine restaurants where the meat is pulled down in kind of a lollypop look. Anyway, no innuendo there I am sure.

LOL! Yes Points! I was talking about ' frenched,' as in cutting away the membrane between each rib to expose the tips of each rib bone about 1/4 of the way down each rib.

But I like the inuendo idea better!

OH! You mean like in a rack of lamb. The chef scrapes the meat away from the skinny end of the rib towards the chop section so that it gives a clean bone handle to grasp. Yes, very lollypop looking.
