Chicken Green Chili Burger W/Guacamole Topping

I was very pleasantly surprised at how much flavor this chicken burger had! Followed the measurements to a "T" which I hardly ever do, and glad I did, this was seasoned perfectly. Stick with a grill pan or a skillet, because grilling will NOT work. The meat is to goopy to stay on the grates. Held up nicely on my grill pan though and firms up quite a bit for the flip. Made the recommended My Favorite Chunky Guacamole to go on top. Did not serve with the bun.

Great picture. And I have ground chicken in my refrigerator. I don't have green chilis. AGH. I know I would love this. Chunky Guacamole is the finest kind. Great post.

I've only had chicken burgers 2 other times and this one beat them out by far. Michael had one tonight at work and texted me that he really liked it, so yay, it will be made again :)

Well thank you Michelle for bringing this recipe to my attention. In the winter time I really appreciate a good burger recipe that is made on the stove top as opposed to grilled (so I don't have to go shovel out the BBQ).
It always freaks me out a little when a burger recipe does not call for bread crumbs and egg. They are just two ingredients I am brain washed belong in burgers. These didn't need it. They held together very well. But they were goopy going into the pan as Michelle states. If one did want to grill them I think adding them would do the trick.
I followed the recipe to the T as well and like Michelle, I agree the burgers are perfectly seasoned and the cook time was perfect as well. They had a nice 'heat' to them which warms the cockles of the heart on a wintry Canadian evening. :)
A slice of tomato and onion would totally go nicely on top as well.
I cheated and used a store bought package of guacamole. My picture looks very 'green'.....they were dee-licious! Shall add to regular menu rotation.

I suppose all those flavors would work well with ground turkey, too, which needs flavoring up as well. Nice green picture, Janet, and I can see that bit of cheese peeking out there. :)
