    by mis7Up and cmnjersey, respectively...

both good recipes...I added photos and reviews for both!

the shells are very different, and the hot sauce is a good stating point, for sure :)

I love the hot sauce and thank mis7Up for sharing a family recipe. The pics you added were awesome keni... It brought her dad's sauce recipe alive.

I have a small issue with the cheddar cheese on the pasta shell recipe but hats just me....;-)~~ I love the basic recipe but I might top it differently ...... My thanks to the author for sharing it with us and to keni for cooking and reviewing it....

He's a friend of mine, and as you saw in the recipe reviews, he knows it's not my "usual" fare, either, but, as i've said many times, I'm not a stodgy cook, and I'm not really picky(about freshness, in general, yes, but not about tryin' new things), and am nearly always willing to expand a bit :)

So, cheddar(well, in my case, it was cojack cus I already had it grated from Sunday :) went on shells...it was a basic flavored recipe, with the beef, rich gravy and horseradish, but the delivery on the shells was certainly the difference. :)

and yes, the sauce was very good and classic...as I said, I can really see this as a near perfect base recipe....and I will do it again with adding some chipotles!

I only rated it a 4 rather than a 5 mostly cus with that much tomato, I really thought it "needed" the extra salt..and I don't eat a lot of salt! :) but, with tomatoes, I really think it's gotta be there. And, needed to double the jalapenos to make it even a lil hot, for our taste, but I really LOVED the whole tomato aspect...I've never made it with whole tomatoes. I purposely didn't process it, just used the blender per directions, and loved the very slight texture that gave it. :)

wow...another review on each of them...sorry Jim! :)

No need to apologize keni... Two reviews for the price of one? Can't beat that with a stick keni........;-)~~ I appreciate the analysis. I love cheddar, but I was just wondering how it would blend with a rich brown gravy as opposed to something like a horseradish/sour cream/ chive type topping. I guess I will just have to try it "as is" first and go from there...
