    Corn On The Cob
I came home from my parents' house this weekend loaded up with fresh vegetables, including some corn. I wanted an ear for lunch but its supposed to be 96 here today so I didn't want to heat up the kitchen boiling some water. This microwave method worked perfectly for me.

Such a great idea! We've been eating lots of corn on the cob from our Farmer's Market and it sure does heat up the kitchen boiling the corn..we have grilled corn on the cob, but you really have to watch it...unless you grill in the husks..with the silk removed..then you kindof still have to watch it:) Otherwise you have burnt corn:( Pretty pics:)

That is a great idea! I always microwave potatoes to make "baked" potatoes but never thought of corn!

LUCKY you on the bounty from your parents FA! I haven't boiled corn in years....always use the microwave, exactly as Recipediva's post shows. I think perhaps it may retain more nutrients nuking it as well.

I have a very old microwave recipe book from the mid 70's and this method is in that book! So, I guess its been around a long time and I'm just discovering it.
    It certainly does work! :)

Within hours of being freshly picked, the sugars in the ears start turning into starches.
It's best to process the corn almost immediately for fuller flavor.
