    Crispy Cinnamon French Toast

This is a fantastic recipe and family just loved it. LOL DH said that he did not think that it was a great idea to sprinkle the cinnamon mixture on top of the bread slices that it seemed strange. As soon as he bit into one he just raved at how good it was. Oh I used dark brown sugar as that is what I always have in the house. Will be making again.

Nadine, we love breakfast for dinner, and French toast or pancakes are our favorite choices. This recipe is so similar to my tried and true that I know it was good!

Hi Bakerme it is very similar to what I had done before except I would mix the cinnamon in with the eggs not sprinkle on top after the bread had been dipped.

My cinnamon seldom wants to stay mixed in and often ends up kinda floating to the top of the egg mixture and sticking to only one side of the slice. Maybe that's why this recipe says to just sprinkle it on top. Makes sense.

Cinnamon is quite hydrophobic. It needs a heavier batter like structure to stay suspended.
I suppose the tree it comes from floats quite well.

My Mom used to make us something kind of similar to this I think when we were kids, but I never asked for a "recipe", it was just kind of a thing she did :) Gotta give this a go with my kiddos, think they would love it!
