Ingredients

How to make it

  • In shallow pan or dish(I use a pie plate), beat eggs well.
  • Add half and half, vanilla and salt and whisk together well.
  • In a small bowl, combine the raw sugar and cinnamon. Mix to combine.
  • Heat a T or so of butter in a skillet or griddle over medium high heat.
  • Working with a few at a time, add bread slices to the egg mixture and let soak in, slightly, to each side.
  • Just before placing on the griddle, sprinkle one side liberally with the cinnamon/sugar mixture and place it sugar side down.
  • Cook until done on the first side, sprinkle upside with the cinnamon/sugar, flip, and cook until golden and cooked through.
  • Serve immediately.

April 11/16 made this for brunch yesterday and family all agreed this is a fantastic French Toast recipe. Even DH who was let us say sceptical that it would even work the way recipe was stated. He loved it from first bite. Will be making again RIP Keni
