Crispy Cinnamon French Toast

- 1lb thick sliced bread or croissants(my preference) shopping list
- 4-5 large eggs shopping list
- about 1/2 cup half and half shopping list
- 2t quality vanilla shopping list
- pinch of sea or kosher salt shopping list
- 1/3 cup raw sugar(sub light brown, if necessary, but use raw if you can :) shopping list
- 1T quality cinnamon shopping list
- few T of butter, for frying shopping list
How to make it
- In shallow pan or dish(I use a pie plate), beat eggs well.
- Add half and half, vanilla and salt and whisk together well.
- In a small bowl, combine the raw sugar and cinnamon. Mix to combine.
- Heat a T or so of butter in a skillet or griddle over medium high heat.
- Working with a few at a time, add bread slices to the egg mixture and let soak in, slightly, to each side.
- Just before placing on the griddle, sprinkle one side liberally with the cinnamon/sugar mixture and place it sugar side down.
- Cook until done on the first side, sprinkle upside with the cinnamon/sugar, flip, and cook until golden and cooked through.
- Serve immediately.
