Frenchman's Spaghetti

A recipe from Good4U Frenchmans Spaghetti

1st, I love old family recipes, because they are tried & true and the best in my book! I have been wanting to make this for a while, but never seemed to have celery in the fridge:) That being said...this was delicious! So flavorful! I adore cooked celery, and it really added lots of flavor, I used the crock pot method and also used chicken breasts (cooked on low for approximately 5 hours). I only had diced tomatoes with jalapenos, which added a little kick..along with a pinch of red pepper flakes:-) I served this topped with just a little sprinkling of crumbled Feta as well...yum! Total comfort meal, we loved it and I'll be making this again & again ..Thank you Joce for sharing your husband's family recipe:)

Great pic! I am delighted you enjoyed it, Marie:) You certainly did kick it up a notch or two:) Great idea using the crumbled feta on the top! I must try that, next time I make it. Thanks for the lovely review:)

Joce, I thought we were out of Parmesan (we weren't) so I thought Feta would be good...it was:) Such a great recipe!!!

Frankieanne, We have pleeeenty of leftovers..especially since Rick put in 2 lbs of spaghetti in the boiling pot of water when I wasn't looking..we also have lots of leftover plain old spaghetti..LOL

Marie, that's so true about family recipes being tried and true. I've gotten most of my favorite recipes from other cooks and community cookbooks instead of big name cookbooks. Regarding the spaghetti, interesting take on a popular dish. I'm not a big celery fan, so am not sure I'd like it with the tomatoes. The biscuits in the photo posted by Good4U look picture perfect and I would love to know what recipe she used.

Thanks:) One of my best purchases years and years ago was a spaghetti measuring gadget, I bought at a dollar store. It measures it perfectly!
Bakerme, The recipe for the Biscuits is an easy one Whipped Cream Biscuits
I make another easy one using vegetable oil, which is also simple to make.

Thanks for the recipe links, Good4U! We love good homemade biscuits. I've never made them with oil, but the rest of the ingredients look very similar to my tried and true recipe.
