Recipe by Oliviajasonkim: Gamja Jorim Korean Glazed Potatoes/saved
A nice little potato dish. A little sweet but watch out for the heat. I used only 1/2 tsp crushed peppers.
Also left the skin on. My favorite part not to throw away.
Forgot to add the sesame seeds.

Hmmm.....I love potatoes and I love Asian foods. I think this sounds like a recipe I'd like to try but the sweet part is scaring me off.. Wonder what would happen if I skipped the corn syrup altogether orrr......halved it? I love sesame oil. Nice pic Points. Always get a grin from your dinnerware! :)

A whole tablespoon of pepper flakes for three to four potatoes? Hot!! Nice picture, pso.

I'm gonna try these, too... I will use a lil honey, instead of the syrup, and prolly halve it.

Used 2 huge potatoes which made about 4 servings. Halved the syrup and the brown sugar but when I tasted it close to the end I added in the rest of both. I really thought the full amount would make them taste like candied potatoes or something but the sweetness was surprisingly very mild and goes very well with the soy and sesame oil. Threw in a little salt to taste as well. I forgot the sesame seeds at the end :( Anyway we really enjoyed these and I served them with some Korean glazed ribs which paired very well! Added my pic and my 5 stars ;)

Oh forgot to mention I did cut back the red pepper flakes back to about 1/2 tsp so the kids could eat it. For me I would have thrown the whole Tbs in ;)

I think sweet "potatoes" would have a different flavor to sweet potatoes IMO. Not to even say I wouldn't like sweet "potatoes". Just something I've never had. These weren't that sweet to me anyway, but still really good! (By the way, spell check Mr P?? ;)

I think they would too, ML2C. Taste different, that is. I was just being a SA. And thanks for pointing out my spelling error. Another one of my signatures :P

YES I would have :) Sometimes I just cant help myself. I have not been around much lately with the nice weather, long days and too much to do. Once I catch up, I'll be back in full force and looking for typos :))

    Made, photographed and reviewed! :-)

Just what I needed for the meal. I did make the subs I figured I'd make, and glad I did. I don't think I'd change anything.
