Hearty Chicken And Rice Soup

Michael and Bri both have strep throat, so lots of soup making going on around here lately. This was a great addition for sure, everyone thought it was super flavorful and nice and filling. I used homemade chicken stock and I had to add in some garlic. I prefer to saute my veggies first so that's what I did. The lime juice is something new to us in this type of soup, but we enjoyed the light flavor of lime. This really hit the spot and am glad there is plenty leftover for the one's who need it :)

Chicken soup isn't called Jewish penicillin for nothin'! I hope it makes your family feel better fast! Chicken soup is my favorite and I can eat it any time. Your yummy looking photo makes me want some now ;) Hey, here's a strange question: Is your bowl Apilco? It looks just like mine, and all of my everyday dishes are Apilco. Love 'em!

That is a beautiful picture, Michelle. It looks like it came out of a food magazine. The addition of the lime juice looks very interesting! A nice way to elevate good old chicken soup.
I am so sorry your family is sick and strep throat isn't any fun at all. I hope they get better soon.

Bakerme, they are not Apilco, I'm not even sure where they came from or if someone gave them to me or I bought them lol! I do love white bowls to photograph with though :)

When we replaced our old patterned Pfaltzgraf about 10 years ago, my husband wanted white dishes. I thought they sounded kinda boring, but since I had picked out the first set, it was only fair that he pick out the next. I have to admit that I love the way the food looks against the white, very appetizing!

Hope the chicken soup worked and your family is feeling better!
