    Pesto Pepperoni Pizza Planks
I loved these. I love pizza. Its my favorite food but I have to admit I've never had it without a marinara/pizza type sauce base. This was really good and a nice change up. I had to use red onions instead of olives. My pizza has to have onions on it. And my planks do have mozzarella. I like my mozzarella cooked until its a crispy brown. Good stuff - even without the marinara dips. :)

OK - that's weird. I typed the recipe title in my thread title. I've seen this happen to others as well... Not sure why it ended up that way!

Wow.....that looks delicious. I have yet to actually make a homemade pizza really. Bought myself a pizza stone last summer but haven't actually christened it yet. This recipe looks excellent. Bookmarked it based on your lovely review!

I have had pesto pizza before and really loved it! Wouldn't mind making it myself, I like the idea of still having marinara to dip though ;) Sounds, and looks, delicious!

I have yet to make homemade pizza. This looks like it would be a great one to start with. Dont have a pizza stone yet, so will have to use a cookie sheet. I would also omit the olives. Dont care for them on or in anything. Just by themselves. What do you have to do to "prepare" pesto?

You can make pesto, MrP, but it probably would be easier to buy it. I have a big jar I've had for quite a while. Supposedly, it keeps pretty much forever as long as you keep it covered with olive oil. I think I've had my jar a couple of years. Its pretty huge. :)

Thanks, Frankie.........OK, so what I have is a jar of green stuff. It says basil pesto and looks like I can spread it. Its buy Classico or something like that. It looks like it has water or oil in it. I have never opened it. Do I have to do something to this to "prepare" it or is it already prepared? It does not say prepared anywhere on the jar

That's the stuff you want. Its ready to go. Just make sure that a little, thin layer of oil stays on top of the leftovers so the "green stuff" doesn't hit the air. Its OK to add oil (olive) if you need to. It should last quite a while that way.

prepared just meant made, in this case....nothing special. A lot of people make their own pesto, but the stuff in the jar is just fine. :-)

Thanks Frankie. I will have to try this

You mean like "prepared" mustard? I didnt know that one either a while back. Or EVOO..... I think you guys like to put all that confusing stuff in there. Thats OK. Little by little I'll catch up : )

Yes, it's entertaining to watch the way your eyebrows get all squinty when you're confused. ;-)

Just teasin'... ask all the questions you want... you know we'll answer when we can.
