    Italian Melt
I left out the mushrooms, though, because - well, I'm one of those odd ones that can't stand them! Very good and easy.

That looks like another great burger. Did you make garlic bread for the bun?

Actually - I cheated. I had some Texas Toast (frozen - it was on sale :D) opened up so I used that. It was "use stuff up" day.

those Texas toasts things would work fine...and Frankie, no worries about mushrooms, don't be silly :) Not liking them is a very good reason to leave them out...hehehehe... I did use the mushrooms on purpose, to extend the meat, and it was delicious, but if you don't like 'em, then the meat stands fine on it's own, I think.

And, this recipe is meant to be just like you used it... with a "use it up' type ingredient list.... I'm so happy you tried it and enjoyed it, and thanks so much for the pic!!

    Thank you!
I also figured, Keni, that the mushrooms would add some type of flavor (if that's what you want to call it :-P) to the meat so that's why I didn't half the amount of herbs. I got a really nice herby flavor by using the near whole amount.
I have one leftover for my dinner tonight. :)

Texas Toast?...............Never heard of this. It is a bun or roll. The pic looks like a bun. So many types of bread. I always use Orowheat multigrain, or healthnut for burgers cuz thats all I ever have. No room in the freezer for hamburger buns, hotdog buns, rolls and all that other fancy bread stuff. I have some hamburger to use up, too. I will have to put this on the short list

Hey it's me again. I was browsing this thread and saw your question. Texas Toast is just really thick cut bread (about double the thickness of "regular" white bread). It's used a lot for garlic bread. You can either get it frozen or in a loaf. I don't know if this is how it got its name, but it makes me think of the saying "everything is bigger in Texas."

Look in your freezer aisle in the bread section at your grocer Mrpiggy for the TX toast. Its in a box and very garlicky/buttery. I'm not sure if they just sell it in certain area's but I'm always able to find it, (*hints*, I live in Texas lol)! It's SO GOOD!

Where I shop, it is in the freezer aisle next to the frozen ravioli and other stuffed pastas. Good stuff!
