So easy and taste way better than the store stuff! All those chillies sound like a lot but it works out great! Tons of flavor!

I bought some chorizo once (once) and took it out of the tube and it just disintegrated into whatever it was I was making. I was really disappointed and haven't used it since. This looks like what I should have had at the time! Thanks for showing this to us!

I"ve had it do that to me before too! I think you have to find the fresh chorizo, like by the meats, I'm guessing. My store doesn't carry it though, but this is a great alternative ;)

Yup...the key word in that sentence is "tube", Frankie.... luvs is right, try to find fresh or link chorizo.... fresh is sold, here, just in packages on the white trays like ground beef.

Glad you tried it, mommyluvs, I really enjoyed making this and have several times, now. We especially love it with ground venison. :)

There is a Hispanic market in town. I may be able to find some there as well.
On a different note (and because you both are here :D) - I noticed in my weekly grocery ad where I shop that crawfish is on sale for $1.98 a pound but its already cooked and seasoned!! Shoot! Wonder why they would do that? Guess I could check out how is seasoned. It isn't in the freezer section where I shop either.

I think I may get some just to try them out, especially as I've never had one and they are certainly cheap enough!

Yup...cooked is just fine, but it would depend on what it's seasoned with...my guess would be just a normal "mudbug boil" type seasoning, which is mild and similar to other seasonings for seafood like crab boils or shrimp cocktail. Not a lot of flavor, just enhancing...

please let us know. That's a good price, even here! :)

I was stilled ascared of all that heat and only used the bare minimum. Didn't put in any salt as all the bulk pork I could find was patties so I presumed they were already salted. Used this recipe in Anytime Easy Empanada Or Enchilada Filling/saved
