Recipe by Keni: Nothing To It Slow Cooker Ham And Beans
We have this somewhere in IMI archives without benefit of a link so here it is.
It's good flavored beans but have a salt shaker near by. Used a boston butt bone.
Beans were still a little under done at 6 hours. Bumped it up to HI for an hour to complete crocking.

A Boston butt bone. What is that? Sounds beefy to me.

It's the bone that comes in a pork Boston butt roast. Used it in place of the meaty ham bone from a pig leg roast that recipe called for. It's the bone from one of the ass cheeks of the little piggy that went to the market, and not in a good way for the little piggy. Actually I got two of them in one package. Both barrels as it were, minus the stuff in the middle. :@ )

I guess I need to look for ham bones. I don't think I've ever seen them where I shop though. It sure looks tasty, pso!

I got to use my ham bone today! I used 8 cups of water and 6 bouillon cubes which was the perfect amount of flavor. I used extra water since I didn't soak my beans, but I did start this at 7 30 in the morning. Wanted so bad to make corn bread with this but the daughter decided to go four wheeling last minute and I put it off.... This is a good, simple recipe Keni!!!
