Just a classic ham and bean recipe. So easy but very tasty. Prep time includes soak time.

Awesome, Great Northerns are my favorite, and I cook them quite a bit, but have never added the broth...sounds delicious! Thanks for a great post!

One of my favorites, just because it's so easy and tasty... get it started before heading out the morning, and come home to a hearty meal. :) Absolutely awesome with some good cornbread. There should be a picture of this in the dictionary next to "stick-to-your-ribs"

Beans,fried potatoes,and cornbread!

Thank-you,a good pan of beans was always a staple at home, growing up.

Kind Regards

One of my all time favorit comfort foods... Simple to put together but oh so good
flavor....;-)~~ Jim

Love those beans! Funny, but I've always just used water - never any broth! I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for the nice post.

Another winner Keni! Can't wait to try these as well! :D

Beans crocking away. I forgot to nonstick spray the bowl. Guess I'll have to rub some elbow grease on it afterward.

At 6 hours I find a bean every eventuality undercooked. Turning up the crock to HI for the last two hours.

Didn't have the hambone so subbed 3/4 lb smoked bacon coarse chunked.

This sounds super!

Thanks, going to make some beans this week with my left over ham but I have always done it on the stove.

I just put my beans on!! I have never put on onion in them while they were cooking, however, I always put onion, relish, hot pepper juice with my cornbread and beans.

You helped me make my husband a very happy man..I thought I had him convinced that I was not replaceable. I never put onion in mine and I always cooked mine down to a thicker broth. We enjoyed this much better!! Thanks~
