    Pancakes
Still working on the bottle of Butter Pecan syrup I received for Christmas.
These turned out to be an experiment because I found I had no milk. I could have sworn there was milk in the refrigerator! Oh, well. I didn't want to waste everything else that was already mixed up so I used water. They came out just fine! I would be interested to see how they do come out with the milk but its good to know I can make pancakes with water in a pinch. Recipe mentions an egg but it isn't listed in the ingredients. I went to joyofbaking.com and there is supposed to be an egg in this. I didn't use it because I read the instructions after I got done. haha I should make these the right way to see how they turn out but they were very edible (for me) using water and no egg.
I got four pancakes out of this.

Gosh, that looks so good! I have to admit, I use Bisquick to make pancakes:) I guess I need to try making "real" pancakes one day!!!

Milk contributes a softer texture and a little sweetness and fat to the cakes unless it is ultra high pasteurized.

Yum, okay your pancake making lately is making me feel guilty! I need to make up a batch for my kiddos, they LOVE pancakes! For the few missing items, they look great!

We use raw milk straight from the cow, and even when I buy a half gallon there is some left at the end of the week. Will have to use it in making pancakes.

Yes, I was thinking the egg and the milk would make these a bit fluffier. Frankly - and I don't want to insult any pancake connoisseurs - pancakes (to me) are what is put on them anyway. Once they get all soggy with butter and syrup - well, they all taste pretty much the same to me! :)
