Panko Chicken by Pleclare

Well....Pat must certainly be hovering over GR cuz I made one of her recipes this week too. :) I've made
    Oven Fried Panko Chicken/saved
a zillion times but I don't think I've ever put it into the IMI Group. Frankieanne....I'll direct this question at you....To check if a recipe has been entered in IMI, I just clicked the recipe button above and typed in the name of the recipe and it didn't show up. That'd be the way to check right?
So....I thought I'd put it in now.
I don't deep fry food really ever but I sure like the flavour and the crunch that comes from that so this recipe fits the bill perfectly. It seriously turns out crisp and crunchy. I tend to be a bit heavy handed with the cayenne and it really adds a nice unexpected heat!
I melt margarine in a bowl in the microwave along with the salt and cayenne and then I just flip the chicken pieces in the bowl as opposed to brushing them with softened butter. Toss them in the panko then on a cookie sheet in the oven and voila. Yummy chicken. Kudos Pat!

Wow, that looks really good and - like sparow said - easy! I love your picture. I'll have to try this one, too. Pat has so many good chicken recipes posted.
Thanks for putting it in here, Chuckie. As for recipes put here in IMI - the actual poster of the recipe has to request that it be added to the IMI group. If any of us make a recipe posted by an inactive GR member, they may not know we made it. Or an active member may not know about IMI and how it works - or they may not care! :D So, this isn't the place to look for reviewed recipes. You can either look to see if Reviews has bookmarked it - which I did and you can see it on this recipe - or go to
    http://www.grouprecipes.com/people/reviews
    and search Reviews bookmarked recipes.
    Thanks again for showing us. I appreciate everyone's participation in IMI so much. I really think this is a great place to show us what you're making and love - or don't love! :}

Well I have to admit to feeling pretty stupid. I really didn't know/or....I had forgotten that the poster of the recipe had to add it to the IMI Group. And now you say that, I vaguely remember hearing something about that when you were taking over the helm and adding the recipes into IMI recently Frankieanne. I guess I always thought you did that! :) But that makes sense now you say it. So.....just to clarify, cause goodness knows I'm often muddled, if someone makes one of my recipes and puts it in here, I should go click the button and add it to the IMI Group.
And then now you refresh my memory about the Reviews page. I vaguely remember seeing that too. See....I can be taught! :)
    Thanks Frankieanne! :)

When the poster adds a recipe to the group, I finalize the addition by either an "accept" or "deny" button that is available to me. So, I do kinda have to add it. I only add ones that have been made by other members except I made a mistake and hit "accept" with a recipe of Jojoba's the other day, darn it. No way to remove it once I did that so I'll have to be more careful next time.

I made this a few weeks ago. What an awesome recipe. So simple and crisp. I did add garlic witht he panko bread crumbs and also doubled the cayenne pepper. I LOVED this. Added a pic. Thank you, Chuckie for the heads up on this one. Oh, and I used 9 b/s breast. Had a monster package. Loved the leftovers, too

Nope, Im not confusing the 2 recpies, ML2C. Looking back I can see why you thought that. And I did like Chcukie. I dipped my chicken in the melted butter, instead or brushing

Nice picture Mr. P! Every time I see this recipe I get a craving for it. :) I've made it with boneless skinless thighs before too and it's awesome that way as well.

I made this again, tonight. Thankfully a friend picked up a can of Panko crumbs for me. For those that have not tried this.....all I can say is you are missing out. It comes out so so juicy. So little ingredients and such a great turnout.

I have such bad luck cooking chicken at 450F! The grease always spatters and I get a lot of smoke. I set off the smoke alarm last night, sending the cats scurrying under the bed and had to open up the front door despite pouring rain. Ah, well. At least I know the alarm works. :)
That being said - when all was done and calm - this chicken was great! I loved the crunchiness! It had just enough heat for me. It also was so easy. I had a tough day at work yesterday and even though I came home worn out, I had enough energy in me to cook up this simple recipe with stuff I always have around. Looking forward to the leftover piece. Added a picture to the recipe.

Wow another popular chicken recipe!!! Guess I need to make it! I'll probably sub some chili powder for the cayenne since it's milder and the kids can handle it.... such great pictures everyone!!

Poor kitties. Bet the dogs thought it was the dinner bell : ) Your pic looks great Frankie, Especially the crispy brown one. I wonder if you get a lot of smoke from the skin? I have made this twice using 450 and b/s. with no smoking. Hmm

BTW, Are you one of those cooks that your smoke alarm also serve as your cooking timer : P

Actually, ml2c, I did use chili powder. I don't have any cayenne.
Well, not really, MrP. I've lived in my place for seven years and that was the first time I heard the alarm. Hopefully, the last as well. :) I do think the grease comes from the skin. But, it was such good skin!

I set my fire alarm off almost everytime I set my oven above 400...it's really sensitive and I always forget to turn the exhaust fan (is that what it's called?) above the oven on to take some of the heat in...
