    Pork Roast

I had acutally did this on Saturday but wanted to get pics down loaded and figure out how to word the review. The recipe's falvour was great but there are a couple of things. Without know the submitters measurements as had been suggested by Semi I did 2 tsp of each. For the pepper I used cayenne pepper at the 2 tsp level. Will drop by half next time I do it. The meat was full of flavour and tender. Will be making again.

Nice photo, Nadine! Is a picnic pork roast what's also called a butt roast, Boston roast, or shoulder roast? I haven't made a pork roast for a few years now because the loin roasts, my preferred cut, are so enhanced that there isn't enough marbling to make the meat tender, or enough of a fat cap to get any drippings for gravy.

I used a pork loin roast. The store I usaually go to had large ones on sale. so I picked up a couple and cut in half. LOL they were about 6 lbs in size.

I wish I could find a nice roast like that! My late father-in-law was a great cook and had a tradition of making "the first pork roast of the season" as soon as the weather got cold. We've tried to carry it on, but, like I said, the new roasts I've found are meh.

Oh Bakerme I agree with the meh on the roast now. I find that if I do not use either a rub or marinate they are tough and no flavour.

Well, at least now I know it's just not the stores in this area.

Was it moist? I find that pork isn't very juicy. Or maybe its the way I cook it.
    Another yummy looking dinner. :-)
There isn't even a temperature listed. What temperature did you use?

That is a beautiful photo, I love the look of the crust on the outside. I'm the odd man out here. I don't find it dry or tasteless. and I don't marinate the roast.

Wow, that recipe is extremely vague! I'm glad you figured out though, it looks like it turned out great!!

A recipe I would definitely pass by, unless I was hurtin' for certain' to get a roast out.
Alarm bells and sirens went off when I read the introduction. Couldn't tell if it was brag or warning.

Oh Frankie it was very moist. I did put a little water in the bottom of the pan part way through cooking. LOL to humor DH for sure.
