    Potato Rosemary Crusted Fish
I couldn't make the potato stay on the fish at all! It was a huge mess and the bottom slid right out from under the fish when I took it out of the pan. I ended up putting some potato on the plate then added the fish and then put more potato on top. I hate to say this, but I wonder if the poster has ever actually made this. It tasted good, but I would never make this for company. I gave it three stars. I hated doing that but I don't think I would make it again. I forgot to add my picture here but its on the recipe. Not sure I want to link this one back to IMI either.

There's those beautiful cucumbers again :-)
I can't really tell you what do do about adding the IMI link other than that fact that when you do, it does help the IMIers. I don't think you really said anything here that you didn't say on the recipe itself.
I do think that the poster, Karlyn255, did make the dish just because she said "Don't worry about a few shreds of potato that remain in the skillet."

She might have, but the blurb is from the original recipe, http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/RCP00177/Potato-Rosemary-Crusted-Fish-Fillets.html, so it's hard to say.

I made a potato crusted grouper that worked pretty well. It isn't easy to accomplish, though, if I recall. :) I'll go find the recipe and link it here, so you can see.

Thank you, Lovebreezy. I had two with my dinner last night and gave three away earlier in the day. I have lots of them right now. :)
This is a recipe that, if I had made it, I wouldn't have posted it. There is no way that squeezed dried potatoes are going to stick to dried off fish. It just ain't gonna happen.
I was thinking of Googling that recipe, Keni. Thank you for doing that. That grouper recipe that Grizz (miss you, Grizz!) posted looks great. That one should work a bit better as it has an egg wash that could help make the potatoes stick. I may have to try that one.

Well....This has been a most informative thread. First off, I am now sooo intrigued by the idea of a potato encrusted fish dish and second, I'm a little creeped out by the whole recipe/internet search thing. :)
Your picture is a gorgeous one Frankieanne and if you hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have been any wiser that it didn't actually work. It looks fabulous.
And then when Keni traced the recipe back to another website. That freaked me out. I thought "How did she do that"? and then I went on to experiment with some others, and wow....that's pretty freaky. I adore the Internet but sometimes I forget how freely available the information is! :)
And last, but certainly not least...that
    Grouper In Potato Crust
looks insanely good. Thanks for pointing it out Keni. As much as I'm not looking forward to rinsing and squeezing the shredded potato (I always do it in a clean kitchen towel and it's such a MESS!), that recipe is sincerely calling my name.
As always, you guys are a wealth of information. Kudos.

Hey, Chuckie, I don't think Keni meant to creep you out. :)
I Google recipes that have been posted here once in a while - especially if the photo looks really professional. One of my favorite cooking blogs is http://www.simplyrecipes.com/.
One day, after reading Elise's latest post, I came here and danged if someone hadn't posted the recipe I had just read from her blog - intro, photo and all! Things that make me go "grrrrrrrr." Heck, I've posted recipes I have found at other sites, but I have made them, credited who the original poster was or where I found it and added my own picture (if possible). So - yeah, its kinda copying. But at least its not just plain ol' stealing.
OK - rant over. Sorry. Major venting in this thread here by me. :)
Grizzlybear left behind some good recipes and that one definitely looks like one to try. I have to agree with the mess of squeezing shredded potato. I had those darn things all over the place. Picked up one off the floor this morning! :-D

LOL Frankieanne . I just didn't realize how easy it is to locate a certain recipe on the Internet. I personally think it's fine to add whatever recipe you want to your profile. Perhaps it is one you found on another site and want to try out later, or it's a recipe you found somewhere else and want to keep handy so you have your faves under one umbrella, you know....but...
I do agree with you that it seems a little underhanded to post a recipe and pretend it's your own. As someone says a fair amount "Give credit where it is due".
    :)

hehe, yes, Chuckie. I'll calm down now. I don't want to sound like the "recipe police" or something! :-D
