    Sheraes Baked Mac Cheese

I made this the other night. My son LVOES mac & cheese. When I poured about what looked like 8oz of macaroni into the pan, it didnt look anywhere near enough, so I doubled the recipe. I didnt think about how the pasta would expand, and expand it did, I had waaayyy too much for what I had planned to cook it in. I put it all in a dutch oven. Came out great. It looked great too. We were so hungry that I forgot to take a pic then. I did get one of leftovers. This was very good . My son ate the rest of it except what I stole to take this pic.

Thanks for a great recipe DT

Bookmarked. Don't think I'll have the cheddar though. Jack, co-jack, Monterrey and Mozzarella will have to do.
Is that little piece of celery leaves supposed to make the dish more healthy? :-)

I don't know, pso. It sounds like that was all that was left in the house after the two of them ate dinner! :)

Points, you sure know your veggies. Yes that was celery. It was all I had to add color to the pic. It looked naked on the plate by its lonesome. But just to clear things up, I didnt eat any celery. I also cant say that I ate moderately to keep it healthy. After all, isnt that like saying I only smoked half the cigarette? Or puffed but ddint inhale? My son already wants me to make it again. I will try with different cheese next time. Im all out of cheddar.

And you're right Frankie. I do have celery left : )

Thanks for the heads up, ML2C. I just added it. I have only made mac & cheese twice. This one, and Keni's Creamy White Macaroni And Cheese. But I will have you know that I have not used boxed stuff since. I have 2 boxes in the cupboard that the use by date has passed. Thats a BIG step for me : )

I haven't made that one by Keni but have made her stove top mac and cheese and I do recall it was creamy and delicious! I need to make that again...so glad you made me remember it!

Thought it would turn out grainy but it did not. Good flavor.
Cut into it as soon as it came out of the oven so it did not get a chance to fully set up and there was liquid in the bottom. My fault.
Doubled the recipe and it fit into a 9x13 dish. Two minutes is exactly a good time under the broiler.
Mother had two plates. That's a big compliment!
Have another pound box of noodles. Will have to get cheesy again.

Got around to making this finally! I used yellow and white cheddar in this. It was nice and creamy! I did use the full amount of milk but next time will only use the 1 cup because the bottom was a little watery. Used a shell type pasta. Thanks DT! Posted my pic...

I've never had homemade macaroni and cheese. Just the blue box stuff - which I have to admit I absolutely love despite that Cheeto-s orange color. This looks like one I may try though. I like the simplicity of the ingredients.

Yeah the family loves the blue box too. I on the other hand will tolerate it if I have too ;)
