Slow Cooker Beef Stew With Egg Dumplings For Two
The timing of this post was perfect for me as I had bought a pound of beef stew meat on Wednesday and needed to use it up today. I really loved this stew. I started it out on high for an hour then turned it to low which is what I like to do with my slow cooker meals when I am home. It was done in seven hours. I've never had this type of dumpling before although I had heard of them. I do prefer the fluffy ones more but these are good if you chop them up and stir them around in the gravy. I made the dumplings in the morning and put them in the refrigerator and then put them in the stew for the last 45 minute of cooking. I will definitely use this recipe again. A bit more detail on the recipe.

Frankie, I was just checking out this recipe and saw you reviewed it only a minute ago!!! I saw a 2-quart crockpot on display at Wal-Mart, but they have't had any in stock since before Christmas. It looks perfect for a recipe like this! Coincidentally, I took stew meat out of the freezer yesterday to thaw for dinner Monday ;) Anyway, as usual, your photo looks beautiful!

Most of my recipes still make a lot of food for just the two of us, so I am always looking for recipes that make less. That's how I stumbled across this one. I do want to get two meals out of most recipes, including stew, but some make more than that!

i'm not a huge stew fan but hubby really likes it and lord knows it's certainly a good cold weather/stick to your ribs meal for a frosty canadian winter's night. based on your positive review i will give this a whirl and make hubby smile! nice review fa!
