    Where's my check?? J/K!!!

These were fantastic beans! I have had the "grilling beans" your talking about and they are super SWEET! These are mildly sweet which is much better, to me. My plans were to grill these, but out of no where a storm comes. So I opted for the oven method. This storm really messed up my dinner plans. I went from grilled chicken and grilled beans to baked chicken fingers and baked beans!! Oh well it was all good in the end. \

That looks really good. I love the idea of the corn in it! When Keni pays up, you can send the kids to college. ;-P

Have to say I can't blame it on wine once again ;) The corn was good in this and makes as a really easy all in one side dish. Less dishes is always a good thing!

Fun to tease, huh? I resemble that remark :P Hmmm.... ML2C, we need to build up some ammo on Keni. Oh, and as for not being able to blame the wine. Maybe it was the lack of...... ..... =D

Keni has one spicy little mouth on her! Used all 3 chipotle and no adobo sauce. It was hot enough for me but I don't know that mother will be able to stand the heat.
Sorry to say that the roasted bell didn't get mixed in. Made it first thing and threw it in a baggie and into the fridge to steam and cool while all else was put together. There it is, STILL, and I've already had a bowl of the beans.
Added a piece of chopped up pork loin trimmings into the simmering beans, saved from the last loin roast I made. Didn't have any immediate near future recipe that called for a partial cup of corn, so I added the whole can into the beans.

Edit: Almost forgot. Added a couple of star of anise to the simmering beans to keep people guessing what is that special flavor. It rides underneath the other flavors to give a nice finish. It yields a very subtle licorice taste.

yeah...we tend to eat things on the spicier side...sorry, P7O... thanks for trying them, but I'm sorry they're too hot for Mother.... getting her approval is even better than gettin' it from kids! :-)

Sorry about the roasted pepper.... it's a nice addition, but certainly not enough to make a huge change in if you liked it or not.

All of our pics do look very similar!! I can't remember if I did actually use all the chipotles called for or if I cut it back. I do remember my daughter liked them so I must have cut back a little (she's starting to like spicy food, yay!) glad you like them points!!

Nuthin' but the sun should be putting little sweat beads on my brow on a day like today. Good news is there is only one cup left. I'll make this dish again but moderate on the peppers.

    Oh ouch.... heheheh

Okay, sorry they were too hot....you can rate them honestly, ya know... if you didn't like em, gimme lower stars. I can take it! Last I looked, you hadn't done so.

Not that I have to tell you to be honest... I suspect that's not a big problem for you. :-)

Entirely too generous, P7O... but thank you, sir.

You did use dried beans, I assume?

The pics do look a lot alike...and they look very similar to the label of that canned variety! :-) If they are sweet, luv, I know I wouldn't like 'em.

Wouldn't have made them if I couldn't use dry beans.
Seriously, it was my fault for trying all three peppers. I knew better. Can't fault your recipe because of that. One smoked jalapeno will be plenty for me.
