mayo lover from way back

  • sparow64 16 years ago
Hello - LOVE mayo!! When I was little, it was on any sandwich you asked for, unless you asked for PB & J...and PB sandwich was PB and Mayo! LOL...but, it has to be Real...I like Kraft...Miracle Whip and Hellmans, and the rest like that have a different texture and flavor, and they don't have the same results in casseroles and salads...can't wait to see all the mayo recipes! Thanks for starting this group.

Hello, my name is Kn0x and I am a mayo addict. My drug of choice is Duke's Southern or Kraft. Could eat gallons of it. Sometimes I find myself in the pawn shop to support my habit...

*keep coming back, Kn0x!! It works if you work it!*

OMG ROFL Wynnebear - I am still giggling...

we HAD to have BOTH miracle whip AND Hellmans in our household - mom was the miracle girl while dad was a hellman's man....me I though I started a dislike for tuna fish all of the sudden till I realized years later - that tuna made with loads of hellmans I found to be better - lol... I still love them both - but have to use the lighter varieties - (as if that helps me -eegads!)

I know you'd never guess, but, my house was a Kraft house growin' up! I still say to this day, that anyone who doesn't like mayo, grew up in a non-Kraft house! LOL

Funny how some things any brand works, but, things like Mayo and Dressing ...no way...gotta have THE 1!!

I grew up in a Kraft House too. But have grown to be partial to Best/Hellman's. If your store sells, Hellman's lime (popular as Best out west) It is worth a spot in the pantry.

Oh, I love, love, love mayonnaise! I even love it with potato chips, French fries, crackers, and I could go on and on. I discovered potato chips and mayonnaise years ago, and at first was a little embarrased with the combination! The two are so very wonderful together! I have grown less intimidated, and with real bravery, I will now eat the combination in public!! :)

My name is NYM and I love mayo. My husband loves Mayo. We even have a spare jar of Mayonnaise (Hellman's) in a wooden box with a glass front, with a little hammer on a chain. "In case of emergencies, Break glass" Merely a joke now, because it is past it's prime, but people still get a laugh out of it.

    Fries and mayo! Yum.
Mayo and tomato sandwiches on squishy wonder bread. double the mayo. YUM

Sparow, my husband eats mayo, peanut butter and american cheese sandwiches. All the time....I can make the best supper ever and I'll find the remnants of a mayo/pb/cheese sandwich on the counter after I've gone to bed......sneaky eater. And would you believe he has great cholesterol...???? go figure.

Well---if it's any consolation, SURELY the dehydration from the drooling would make up for the fat intake? Just sayin'...Besides, us MAYO ADDICTS slather up a sandwich the right way! You know those sandwiches like at BK the chicken ones? Yeah. I always thought the mayo slathered on there was the BEST part!!

    --Kn0x--

The "Dukes Southern" is only available in GA, TN, SC I think? Black label and here it only comes in quarts. Should come in the gallon size, that way I could just put it in my needles and IV tube and go on with my day....

Addiction is such an ugly "disease."

I was emailed a question about "What do you if in the middle of the night, you make that leftover meatloaf on white bread sandwich , with a dash of pepper and you
find out you are out of mayonaise??

    Answer:
After the shortness of breath and "panic attacks" goes away you throw the sandwich out.

    HAHA-Had to share.

OMG Wynne, the only other person I know that eats mayo on a hot dog...it's a sandwich, isn't it??? LOL...

I could probably just sit down with the jar and a spoon, truth be told...haven't though...although I do "lick" the spoon before it goes in the sink after I've made something!

Mayo and meatloaf is sublime....perfect match.

Marky, I absolutely love that joke. Have to remember to tell the hubby.

Made linebb secret La Feria sauce the other day, basically it is mayo and a jar of green olives, blended til smooth. Awesome stuff. We've dipped shrimp in it, we've used it on romaine and then I put some on a poached chicken sandwich, and declared it gooood.
