Flowery Friday

Good Morning Everyone! Since it's icy and cold and snowy out my windows this morning I am turning my thoughts to flowers.....it's Cherry Blossom season in Asia so I will think of that instead. :)

I'm up early as Jim has a Dr.'s appointment this morning at 9. We'll go for breakfast afterwards and then drop off our taxes at our Financial Advisors. And then my girlfriend gave us two free tickets to the Cottage and Backyard Show so we shall go walk around that and again, turn out thoughts to warmer weather. :)

I have invited said girlfriend and her hubby over for dinner tomorrow evening so have to pick up a few more things at the grocery store.

Have NO clue what to make for dinner this evening but hopefully I'll have a brain storm while we're out and pick something up.

Wishing everyone a great day. TFIF!

Good Morning Janet ... Good Morning All! Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good luck with Jim's dr. appointment. Hope all goes well. Breakfast out is always nice and the show sounds like fun. Ice ... cold ... snow ... I can only imagine. It dropped down to about 65 degrees (f) last night and right now the thermometer is showing 84 (f). Looks like it's going to be a hot one today.

DH has a haircut appointment at 11:00. Me and the dog will go with him and then we'll stop someplace for lunch. DH's haircuts take all of 15 minutes.

My home office looks like an explosion of papers so today and into the weekend I'll get it cleaned up and organized. I hate being disorganized but it's so much easier just to pile it all up until I regret doing that and then need to spend a couple days taking care of it. Why oh Why do I continue to pile up papers and not take care of them right away?

Will pull out BLSL chicken breasts for dinner. Will make a simple marinade, cut them into big chunks, then grill them kabob style with a vegetable or two.

Starting reading a book ... Flight of the Sparrow: A Novel of Early America by Amy Belding Brown ... so far I like it, I like that it's well written.

    Good morning ladies:)

Janet, love the pics..especially the one with the black kitty crossing the road/walk:) Rick has a doctror's appt this morning as well at 8:00 in Chico at the VA..just a check up. Then he has a job to do down there..your day sounds lovely:) We've been talking about getting away for just one night to the coast. We haven't been anywhere for years. We used to take trips every year before becoming self employed..and with everything else going on with our families..we need to wait for the right time to plan even an overnight trip.

Linda, I hear ya on the piles of papers in the office..I am so behind. I'll get it done today..hopefully:) The way I work is "There's always tomorrow". :-)
Rick has a H/C appt tomorrow morning then we'll head to Biggs, a small "town" about 34 miles from where we live, to do a spring job. It's supposed to rain later today into the weekend and maybe even all of next week..good thing, after the 90 degree temps we've been having, everything is pretty dry.

    Tacos for dinner:)

Hi Joce, hope you're feeling better dear....

    Wishing everyone a lovely day.

Hi Marie! Good luck with Rick's dr. appointment too.

Planning trips, taking trips ... as nice as it is to get away it's a lot of work just to get there and it seems then you have lots of work when you get back. Our time away now is to not answer the phone if it rings, pop some popcorn, rent a movie and kick back and take some time to watch it in peace.

Must have missed Joce not feeling well. Sorry to hear this and too hope your well soon.

Morning! Cherry blossoms are so beautiful, wish I had one in my front yard :) It does get pretty windy here though and I can just imagine all those pink flowers stuck to my truck lol. Have fun with your little dinner party tonight :)

Lol Linda, I can imagine what your home office looks like, Michael’s desk looks sometimes like a tornado went through it, and then I’ll go through and try and tidy it up, but he doesn’t even work from it! Yum, chicken kabobs sound great!

A get away sounds like a good idea for you and Rick Marie. I would LOVE to go back to Vegas for a few day’s, but that won’t happen any time soon. Going to Coushatta would be more reasonable for us, and we wouldn’t have to take a plane :) Yum on tacos, that’s my plan tonight too!

Aww...I missed Joce not feeling well too, get well Joce!!

Got the truck washed yesterday, took me about 2 hrs. from top to bottom with vacuuming and everything. There was one little spot I couldn’t reach, but I’ll invest in an extender brush for next time. Bri had a game last night and they won! It went into OT and we didn’t get home until 10:15p. SO we overslept and missed the bus, so I drove the kiddos to school this morning. Going to get laundry done today and get prepared for a LONG tournament tomorrow. Need to get ice, some more waters and Gatorade and cut up fruit. 5 softball games in one day will be exhausting, but we have to get used to it, she will be doing it most the summer. Will cook up a bunch of taco meat this afternoon to eat on for the next couple days, have a great day everyone!!!

Hi Michelle:) You enjoy Vegas, huh! I personally have been there once and that's enough for me! Too much for this old gal! When I was younger, like you, we enjoyed going to Reno..gamble a bit, eat some good food..have a few cocktails..now I'd much rather get away someplace with less people:) I would like to stay here: http://www.greywhaleinn.com/index.htm the next time we go to Ft Bragg. I'd take the Sunset Room..looks like it's on the very top level and you have a view of the ocean at sunset..
    Have a great day sweetie!

Weather is cool and sunny today. Trouble is on my lap purring and I removed my shoe from Fritz's mouth. Hurt my back yesterday so am not doing a lot today. Survival is imminent. Hopefully Fritz will doze so I can start an egg casserole or lunch (Wayne's buddy is working today so they are busy outside).

Linda and Marie, I am the most unorganized person on the planet. Papers everywhere!

Hope Jim's Dr. Appt. goes well. Enjoy breakfast!

Michelle, we would like to go to Vegas sometime, although the night life is not exactly our thing.....thinking of going to Buffalo Run casino in Oklahoma, but that is still not definite, plus we have to factor in three or four days board for Fritz.

In my younger years the idea of a dude ranch appealed, but I don't think my knees would hoist me on a horse any more. Ha ha.

    Hope you feel better, Joce.

Hi Tina. Have not been on Facebook for a bit. Really should check in to see how all are doing.

Best scoot. Have lunch to get ready. Have a nice day.

Phew! We were out the entire day! Got lots of little errands done. Had brekkie at McD's and lunch at Swiss Chalet. Jim's Dr's appointment went well. Just a follow up but she was happy with all his results. We've been trying to get out for walks and eat more seafood lately and she says to keep doing what we're doing. :) The Backyard and Cottage show was nice and there were lots of fun things to look at, some beautiful outdoor gazebos, decks, etc.

Hope you had a nice lunch out with your hubby Linda. I hear you on the explosion of papers. We renovated our kitchen a few years ago and at the time both Jim and I had a new drawer to put such things in.But mine filled up. :) And so I now have a 8" high pile of papers on the kitchen island as well. I guess I need to go through the drawer and cull things so that these other papers will fit in there too. LOL. Your dinner and weather :) sound very nice (It snowed here most of the day). I googled "The Flight of the Sparrow" and it looks very good! I actually went to put it on my 'reserve' list on my library website but it doesn't look like they have it which is a bit odd.

Hope Rick's check-up went well Marie. Tacos for dinner sound wonderful. I saw the Mexican cheese, oaxaca in my grocery store today. I KNOW I've seen it listed as an ingredient in a few Mexican recipes here on GR and I know I looked for it in the past and was unable to find it and now here I find it but I don't remember what the recipes were. LOLOL. I absolutely love that Grey Whale Inn link! It's stunning! They have a Whale Watching room! So cool! Fireside lounge, library....what a great place!

LOL @ the little pink cherry blossoms sticking to your brand new black truck Michelle. I did have to giggle at the image in my head. :) We've never been to Vegas and I've never heard of Coushatta. That being said I will admit neither Jim nor I are casino people. I'm too tight fisted with my money. :) Congrats to Bri on the win last night and good luck to you with all the games this weekend coming up!

Sorry to hear you hurt your back Karen. Hope it mends asap. Could Wayne's friend dogsit Fritz if you go away?

    Decided on
    Chicken Bake Samm
with baked potatoes and spinach for dinner. Guess I'd better go get that prepped and thrown in the oven if we want to eat at a decent time this evening. :)
