I've got a pretty good sized cater to deliver on Monday, so I will be shopping and cooking this weekend! We deliver gourmet country cooked meals in-cabin to people so they don't have to do the crowd madness at the restaurants----and on the menu for this couple is:

    Scratch coconut cake
    Scalloped taters & country ham
    Lasagna
    Chicken spaghetti
    7-layer-salad
    Loaded potato soup
    Sandwich tray & condiments
    Breakfast casserole

They will be here a whole week---so take your pick out of the above and that is what's on our table for the weekend, hahaa! Because you know, it's impossible nearly to make just two servings of any of the above!

    Happy Friday, everyone!

Wow Knox, that is some menu. I'll take one of each! LOL

I'm doing my salmon tonight with cauliflower, not sure if I'll even bother with potatoes. Last night's Savory chicken was great. Gonna be a regular around here. Had it with my leftover macaroni salad and ended up making scalloped asparagus.

Sounds like a plan, Pat and Wynne.

    Later............

I"m going to use up the rest of that roast chicken hubby brought home earlier in the week. Mix up a nice batch of Choke the Chicken egg salad. That is about as ambitious as I'm feeling about cooking just now.

I'll probably go ahead and prepare some pork BBQ from the left over porkchops cuz Mr. SuchAFuss isn't going to be eating any old chicken salad. Oh no... the mayo germs would probably kill him :)

Evetyones dinners sound good...except mine! We're just having take out pizza tonight! No time for cooking because I did lots of errands today! I went food shopping, got the dog groomed and went school clothes shopping for one kid! Whew...I'm tired!

Wynne: That Amish cucumber salad turned out OK. Didn't have to do the two-step to the toilet. It's cucumber and onion in a vinegar sauce! Isn't vinegar what is used to pickle onions and cucumbers anyhow? I felt pretty safe satisfying my munch hunger. Vinegar and mayo lasts indefinitely on the shelf even without refrigeration.

Nothing planned to cook today. Will probably wind up making some cheesy rice or mashed potatoes.

Be careful Points....vinegar lasts indefinitely, but mayo doesn't!

worked all day today and then ran the kids to and from, Rachel's class assignment letter came in the mail today so of course I had to run to Target and get the list of crap they need $25 dollars later not including the $20 I already spent.
Kids are with my sister for the weekend camping in Maine so hubby and I are going to dinner at a place called Joe Fish . Have a great night everyone

I really, really, really want some cashew chicken tonight but don't wanna make it. We'll see what happens. Other than that not much excitement around here today. Allergies are giving me a bit of a break, so that's good.

We're heading to the beach to the local Twistee Treat. Kid needs a frozen custard. A friend called her Monday while she was out of town. She returned the call Tuesday from NC...no answer. She found out today that he hung himself Monday night. He was a very troubled 17 year old, from an abusive home. She couldn't have stopped what he planned to do, but she feels absolutely horrible and is in a lot of pain. A ride to the beach to take in the Sunset and some serious heart to heart is in order. A hug, some custard and lots of mom time is what is required tonight. See ya'll later.

Counsel and console her well. I know about a troubled youth. I was able to hold out and escape to the military and never looked back. I was fortunate.

Oh Tina, that's terrible. Been through that with my son. He had a friend who hung himself when he was 12. Spent a lot of time with Philip and a couple of his friends.

Oh no...I can totally relate to the guilt she probably feels from not getting that call Monday night.
I lost someone I truly loved back in 2001 to suicide. This is just....omg, I'm so sorry....

Thanks for all the messages of support. I appreciate it. She did some heavy duty crying and we watched the sunset very quietly. Everyone is in shock and there is some anger too, why did he call so many and leave the messages that he left? He told Liv and a few others that he knew they "didn't like him anyway." That is the hard part, everyone did like him...they knew he had a tough life and they were trying to help him straighten out and giving him a second and third chance at working it out.
Rest in peace, Nick. Bless your heart, dear child.

Nuff said......I will say that Twistee Treat is NOT frozen custard. It is soft serve and it just isn't the same. I should not teach Liv to soothe her soul with food, but I wanted to help her feel a little better. She has gone to wak Charlie Brown. He will tire her out.

NYM! There is no answer to that kind of thing. Friends are always angry. I remember my boy saying "I am so mad,how could he do something so stupid" At that age ,they are indestructable,it doesn't happen to them! All we can do is be there for them and I know you are girlfriend!

    Sorry NYM!

Went to dinner tonight and hubby and I did the appetizer thing, We got steamers, a lobster stuffed baked potato, a Maryland crabcake, and we each got a bowl of lobster bisque because that is not something either of us is willing to share LOL
Then we went to Khols because hubby needed shirts and shoes for work and sneakers for the upcoming soccer season They are having a sale (aren't they always?) And I got a 30% of scratchie at the register so 4 dress shirts, a pair of dress shoes and nike sneakers for $98.00 Not Salve Amante prices but pretty damn good. Hubby said I feel like that lady in the Ikea commercial when she comes out running and yelling START THE CAR!!! START THE CAR!!!

The only thing I can say about the anger...it is always there but gets tempered with forgiveness.
...and realizing you can't change what happened

You are right Ang! I lost a boy when he was very little and I was very angry with God for taking him. It is part of the process and it does pass!
