Hello friends. Can't believe I'm opening the thread.
Hope all that were ailing are feeling better.....parents included.
Lori, have some fun tonight you deserve it.

Came home to a beautiful sight....fresh sheets with Fred's military corners. It felt great to slip under the covers. Too bad sleep wasn't part of the plan.

Fred is happy with his spaghetti bake.
I've packed grapes, cherries, yogurt, salad and a bbq slider for my supper.
Breakfast of champions....toasted cornbread with milk! one of my mom's favorite.

    Dinner will be leftover chili:)

Janet, actually, I forgot to mention I need 2 older fillings replaced before the crown, so I have a few appts over the next few months...since I'm Native American we have a top notch clinic where I receive free dental & medical except for lab work, so I am so very grateful! VERY grateful..

Going to Oroville with Rick to do a small job so I need to shower and head out the door..

I'll be back! Enjoy the weekend everyone!

ROFL Tina on the Twinkies! Had to show the Mr that one.
Re: the "Rub Off" Brian's rub was quite mild and I don't think it had enough attitude for beef but would do well on chicken or pork. I used too much rub on mine and though it wasn't horrible, I am putting a note to remind me that roasted spice simply explode and should be used gently. It had no trouble meeting up with the beef and I did like it, I simply over did it. So on the theory that too much is too much I declare Mr. SuchAFuss the winner of the Dowling Kitchen Rub Off. What will our next competition be????

Sitting in Miller's field for a bite of lunch with my sweet. A little sad because they eavesdropping arrogant bastard from the beer menu. Had their Cuban sandwich which is passable. I just wish they used Cuban bread and didn't forget the mustard. Oh well if that is the worst I have to complain then life's good.

Good afternoon everyone! Yes, my guests are gone (for now). Working on laundry today. Want to fix something good for dinner but I have no clue what! I should have planned ahead better, nothing is thawed. I think Kris is going snowboarding but I'll stay home. I'd love to just unwind, read, and browse through recipes for inspiration on dinner. Hope you're all enjoying your Saturday!

Well Congratulate Brian for us Laura! :) Sorry your fave beer won't be served at Miller's Field anymore. You'll just have to do some taste testing and find a new favourite! :) And you're probably comparing their Cuban sandwich to yours
    Otterpond Cuban Sandwich
and you should realize that since you are such a fabulous cook that they don't stand a chance. :) LOL!
Hi Dahlia! I am of the mind that you should ignore that laundry for now and just do the unwind, read, browse thing. :) I'm sure you'll come up with a lovely idea for dinner.
I have my dinner prepped and am going to go curl up and read a book shortly. The furnace guy was here again this morning and we had another problem. #74? by now? I've lost track. Anyway...he's getting the guys that designed/engineered the unit to drive up from Waterloo this next week and sort us out. It's just not acceptable and they need to fix it once and for all.

    Good evening all.

Marie.....I think I remember you being Native American. I too have strong Native American heritage from two sides of the family. I am Cherokee and Shoshone. Lol, Dad always said that was why I was so screwed up! Of course, he was just kidding. His side was Cherokee and he always said I got my Bit$$yness from the Shoshone side. Always was good fun and conversation! Enjoyed really funny stories growing up about how this twisted family came to be, lol! But, I adore my Cherokee heritage!

Hello to all. Just a quickie here. Boys have gone to Dad's for the night. Hubs and I were sitting around wondering what to do for dinner. When the boys aren't in the picture we usually get excited about dinner because we can have something different that they wouldn't like anyway. Well, couldn't come up with anything so decided on a delightful salad and crescent dogs. Yes, I said, crescent dogs. Hubs has a hankering for them and have to say they sound pretty good to me too! Man.....we need to get out more............lol!

Laurie......glad you are feeling better. Get some rest. Love ham and eggs for dinner!

Dahlia.....I'm all for the unwind and browse idea. Think I'll do a bit of that myself after dinner. Have a new heathly food magazine I picked up at the vitamin store today and can't wait to peruse that. We, the family, just HAVE to change our eating habits. I have some health problems that will insist on that. And of course hubs does with his heart problems. Cayce is a bit overweight right now (OMG don't tell him I said that, lol) but Benny is skinny as a rail. Unfortunately, Benny is never up to trying new things like Cayce will. I think it's because Cayce likes to cook and is not afraid of stepping outside the box. Benny won't step a foot outside HIS box, lol!

Hope all have a wonderful Saturday evening. And of course............Sleep Sweet.......as always.............

Glad to hear you're feeling better Laurie.
Hey Kimmer! I think family tree's are so cool. It's always really neat to learn where you came from. I've not heard of Shoshone before. I think your dinner sounds wonderful. I used to love crescent dogs. Haven't had them in a coon's age! :) I started to make my salad with the goat cheese coins coated in nuts. Got the blueberry vinaigrette made and then discovered to my chagrin that I had neither pecans nor walnuts (which is really weird as I usually have a container of each in the pantry). So there goes that salad idea. Jim and I too both need to get back on track this year. I think we can do it. Here's to boxes....and stepping out of them. Sleep sweet! :)

Ham was way too salty! I have been back on track and eating healthy since right after Christmas (except NYE of course). I don't feel really sick just very rub down. Tomorrow I'm gonna lounge all day! My sister Mary is coming to stay with me on Thursday and Saturday is my infamous girls party.
