Salmon on Saturday

  • LindaLMT 6 years ago
Good Morning Everyone ... It's Saturday and the weekend! Hope you all are enjoying these last few weekends of summer.

I plan to make Salmon for dinner tonight but am tired of the same ole way I make it and want to try something different. Maybe I'll try pan-searing, not sure yet what to do with it. I usually season it and broil.
Not much else going on. It's already warm. I caught up on sleep even though I had a bit of troubling falling asleep because my hips were aching. Not sure why but they were. Need to get back to better eating habits and taking my supplements.
I'll check back later. My brain is still sleeping and I need to wake up.

Morning Linda! I haven't had salmon in forever but here is a few I have tried from GR:
    Simply Simple Salmon Cakes/photos
    Moroccan Broiled Salmon
    Ginger Teriyaki Salmon
    All delicious!

Ugh on having trouble sleeping, maybe you can squeeze a nap in today :)

Kids went to my Mom's for the weekend so it is nice and quiet here today. Michael is on nights so he is sleeping. Nothing going on this morning besides me being lazy :P In just a little bit I volunteered to be at the sign in desk at the ball fields for tryouts. Then tonight I am going out with a friend. We are going to dinner then she really want's to try out "Painting with a twist" http://paintingwithatwist.com/lamarque/ I'm not very artistic but I'll keep an open mind and go with her :) That's about it, wishing everyone a great Saturday!

Good morning all. Just a quick hello. Woke up to thunder rumbling and then rain. Just a light drizzle now. Having lunch with a dear friend today then will come home and get things ready to leave for St. Augustine tomorrow. Don't have to pack much but still.

Hope all enjoy the weekend. See ya Monday!

I was up early this morning because Roxy woke me up needing to go outside. I left the screen door closed to let in some cool air while I made coffee. I heard a loud truck rumble and a man yelling outside, at first a "Hey!" then just screaming and a truck sound spitting rocks from the gravel road. Followed by three gun shots and the man screaming profanities at the top of his lungs. I immediately got on the phone with 911. All was quiet afterwards. 20-30 minutes later, no police. They phoned me back asking me more questions and said no one else phoned anything in, which was strange. They drove around over there (where I thought the sounds came from), but there was nothing suspicious. No one phoned to report an injury or a vehicle stolen either. So strange!

Hi Linda, I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight! Enjoy your salmon :)

Hi Michelle, ahhhh, how nice to have quiet! They have those painting night's here too. I've always wanted to try it. I don't think you need to be artistic to have fun, I hope you enjoy it :)

Hi Kimmer, enjoy your away time in St. Augustine!! :D

Here is my go to salmon recipe, Linda.
    Easy Sinful Salmon

Enjoy your kid free time and dinner out with you GF, Michelle and I bet you will enjoy the painting night. They are very popular here too.

Have a great time in St. Augustine, Kimmer.

Weird about the truck and men yelling and the gun shots, Shona. Even weirder that no one called the police for anything. Shaking my head.

Den did the grocery shopping this morning and he put everything away. Now he has gone to get beer and MacDonald's for brunch.

Gotta go he is here with our brunch.

Back, finally! My computer crashed after GR was doing some weird things. Then my computer had to do a BIOS update, and a red thing came on the screen and told me turn my security back on and do a virus scan etc...I think I'm good to go! I hope GR doesn't have any computer bugs!?!

    Hi Joce, enjoy your brunch!

Happy Belated Anniversary Janet! Did you make it out for an anniversary dinner? Sounds like you've made great progress on the house cleaning, good job! Is there any word yet when or if your Mom can get into the home? At least you have peaceful surroundings at the river, and you have some family to visit with! Though I'm sure you miss your bed terribly, I know I would! Take care xx

It's going to be a hot one out there today, so we've been out watering the garden. Time to walk the dogs then the shut down the house to keep it cool. Colter is going to work this afternoon then Pete will take Sophia to the indoor splash park x pool at the rec center. We are planning on grilling burgers, but I suspect Pete and Sophia will be extra hungry and tired after swimming! They might want to pick up ready made food on the way home instead. I'm cleaning out closets and getting things organized today.

Have a great day everyone! :D

Hi guys! Just a quick check in! Sorry I can't respond to everyone or read back but I'm in a rush to head back to the house to start making dinner tonight for my Aunt and the gang. There'll be 8 of us altogether and with my limited cooking utensils and fridge space it's going to be tricky.
Yes Shona, Jim and I did go out for dinner a couple of night's ago to Rosalee's in Baudette, Mn. I ordered the NY striploin with two breaded shrimp and hashbrowns and Jim ordered broiled walleye with wild rice. We shared the two plates and also had side salads. It was pretty good! Haven't heard a 100% 'yes' that Mom has been accepted into the Riverview Manor, but the talk around looks like there are two openings.
    How's your cut??????
    Miss you guys!

Cut is healing nicely thanks, it's a little sore but not throbbing pain at least :)
That's great you got out for your anniversary dinner! At least Riverview Manor has some openings and there isn't a long wait list! Fingers crossed she gets accepted!

The RCMP just phoned me back, and there was another police report. Down the road a man said two trucks were attempting a break-in of his garage. He was yelling at them, then got to their truck and was banging on the door and window. So the banging was probably the "gun shot" sounds I heard. And the yelling was him scaring them off. He got a plate off one truck, but the plate was stolen off a different vehicle. Anyways, at least I know what happened now. The police said to keep our outdoor lights on and report any suspicious vehicles going down our back lane.
