Shaky Sunday

Major quake (6.0) in Santa Rosa CA at 3:00 a.m. Now, I'm geographically impaired but I think it is close to Marie and Frankieanne. Sending "no damage" good wishes to our CA ODD contingent. 2 hours I think to Frankieanne and 3 hours to Marie from epicenter.

Prep day for Fred's procedure tomorrow. He won't have to suffer my goat cheese, fig, arugula lunch. He is on clear liquids for the day. We have to be at the surgery center at 6:00 a.m. in the morning. UGH for Tina. Have to go get his broth and clear liquids for the day. Jello and gatorade. Not a yummy day to be Fred.

Lynda is coming to visit us in October! Last week of Oct. I'm so thrilled. Tomorrow is her last 8 hour long chemo. Her treatment will be 4 hour chemo every third week until May. Just as long as the stone crab claw season. Gee, that was a random thought.

Hope everyone is safe and well. Hugs!

A pun just for Jim! And one for Michelle.....and one just for fun.
It is hard to think of prepping for winter when we feel like 103 in the afternoon.

Wow on the Quake Tina. Hadn't heard about that. Doesn't look like anyone got seriously hurt at least. Magnitude 6.0. I know Frankieanne has visited Santa Rosa. Jim, Benjamin and I were there once too on a wine tour of the Sonoma. Lindysez was from there although I don't think she posts here anymore. Says it was also southwest of Sacramento where Marie and Rick go quite often but I think she'd be safe.
What's Fred having done tomorrow Tina? I don't imagine Fred will be too impressed with the clear fluid diet today alright. :) I do like jello though. Haven't had any in ages! How fun that Lynda is coming to visit you. That's excellent and will also give her something positive to look forward to and Lord knows she can use that. LOLOLOL @ Canadian tetrus. That's really excellent. Gonna put that on my FB page. :) Ar-ar-ar on the other two funnies as well. Just about to rustle up some breakfast. Will pop back in shortly.

Fred is having a colonoscopy. His last one was ten years ago, time for another check. He is asking if beer counts as a clear liquid. Fred!!! I'm going to get the jello made so at least he has something to swallow. He is allowed hard candy as long as it isn't red/orange or purple. I'm hungry. I'm going to fix a bowl of cereal and go hide to eat it.

Thanks for the Hoisin sauce recipe Michelle. That's very cool. A little amusing that I may Un-Paleo it. :)
Karen, if you have any questions re: Pinterest just ask them on here as Joce says, there's a bunch of us on Pinterest regularly that might be able to help you out. That's just crazy about Possums and EPM.
LOL Tina at Lola being so exuberant and wanting a play mate yesterday. :) Ugh on the woman having Possums under her tub. That would give me the heebies for sure. Oh ya...I forgot about Fred's colonoscopy. Poor guy. My favourite hard candy is peppermints and Werther's.
Good luck to Rachel with her MRI tomorrow Laurie. And Happy Birthday to her as well. Her Birthday Menu sounds wonderful. Big Congrats to both you and Frank on the raises! How did Becca make out babysitting?
Jim is requesting Steak for dinner this evening. I may see if I can do something with those Zucchini blossoms as a side. I saw a Pin this morning on making ice cubes out of Chardonnay and adding an edible flower to it to pretty it up. That way it doesn't water down your wine. LOL.

Happy Sweet Sixteen to Rachel. She will be fine in the MRI, I'm sure. Wow, Becca babysitting...where does time go? Congrats on the raises! Good for you.

Janet, I saw the edible flower wine cubes. Neat. My ice cube tray is filled with leftover coffee.

My hands have gone numb. I'm going to elevate the feet and see if I can get some relief from the swelling

Have decided on this recipe for my first time Zucchini Blossom trial....:)

Jim and I got a ton done in the yard. Staked tomatoes, dead headed flowers, watered, swept interlock and planted new lettuce and basil. Jim used the gas blower on the side patio. The Oak tree has a bumper crop of acorns and the squirrels have been up in the branches snipping them down along with bits of leaves and such. It was a real mess.
Do put your feet up Tina and find some relief.

Hi:) We are OK..didn't feel a thing..Tina is correct, we're about 3 hours away from Santa Rosa..I believe Frankieanne is 1 hour away.

Tina, when Rick had his colonoscopy, he added Crystal Light Lemon to the electrolyte solution he had to drink before the procedure..it really helped it "go down" much easier...

I just wanted to check in, I have some things to take care of..I'll be back!

Wishing everyone a nice relaxing Sunday:)

Good afternoon! Poor Fred, Tina! I wouldn't know what I would do if I had to be on only liiquids...I love food too much. I sure know I'd be a big grouch :P Good luck to him tomorrow. Yay on Lynda coming to visit!! I bet she is so happy to only be doing chemo 4 hrs :) Lol at the puns!!! Love em' :P

I have never worked with zucchini blossoms either Janet, but have always been curious! Especially since I grow zucchini and squash in the summer and have the blossoms! That recipe looks awesome too! Check out this Paleo ricotta recipe I found yesterday
    http://paleotable.com/2014/02/cashew-ricotta-cheese/
The author swears it taste just like ricotta and I plan on finding out soon. Sounds like you got a ton done today, good job!

Glad you weren't affected by that quake Marie!! That is scary!

Made a huge grocery store run this morning, NOW I remember why I don't go on the weekends lol! It's a friggin mad house! The deli counter guy pissed me off. He was snippy and told me I shouldn't just stand there and wait for someone to come to me I should yell out to them. What?! Then he purposely took forever. RUDE. I'm not going to be like “hey you, I need some lunch meat” they are supposed to be paying attention and greeting people as they walk up to the counter. Now I can see maybe ringing the bell if there is no one up there, but there was 3 of them in plain sight. Okay I'm over it :) A guy brought up a ton of boiled shrimp to Michael's work last night, so he called and asked if I wanted him to bring some home, heck yea! I ate about a pound of them for lunch, lol, they were delicious! I think I am going to try out this recipe tonight Paleo Fried Chicken along with Easy Lime Shredded Brussel Sprouts and something else, not sure yet. Look what I found, Luisa has a Paleo recipe Paleo Banana Bread! Hope everyone has a great day :)

Rachel is going out to dinner with the boyfriend but since neither of them have licenses I am picking them up and dropping them off at a nearby Chinese resteraunt.
Becca babysat for franks cousin. They have two children but the two year old was down the cape with the grandparents. They paid her $60 for 4 hours in which the baby slept 3 and a half of! Becca said it was too much but he said he gave her extra because it was so last minute. Frank and I told her he is just buttering her up for babysitting both children because the 2 year old (maybe 3) is a TERROR! Lol. But it was way too much money ! And she went in thinking she might not get paid since it was family :)
It's been a good weekend for Becca she found out today she made the Soccer team! Pretty exciting since there is no Freshman team. Only JV and varsity. Now she it texting me she wants new cleats!
Tonight's dinner is not dogs on the grill with broccoli .
