    Hi all:-)

I went to bed early last night..and slept in until 7:20 am:) I just made up our weekly deposit, need to also pick up some cat food from Skyway Feed in Paradise http://www.skywayfeedandpetsupply.com/index.html. Then we will get another tomato plant since the heirlooms take up to 90 days to produce..maybe an Early Girl Tomato plant..I really want cherry tomatoes, but don't think we have the room:(

Dinner will be Slow Cooker Tamale Pie :)

Need to get a shower and get this day on the road..have a great Saturday!

Cute pic of Tippi Marie:) Wow what a big pet food store! It would be fun to see it! Lucky you being able to buy heirloom tomato plants. We don't see them very much only the seeds every once in a while. It will be over a month or so before we can plant anything
safely without any frost hopefully. You dinner sounds very good to me:)

Janet, Sending an express bowl of garlic soup your way. I found a blog about different foods and where you might be able to find some American and other types of food which might be different than Taiwanese food. LOL I think she has rated and eaten almost everywhere there:) I hope this helps you when you aren't with Ben. I quite understand you not wanting to hurt his feeling too!
Keep scrolling down on some of these or hit the on the name of the restaurant in some cases.

You are probably all snuggled into your bed by now! Sending very pleasant dreams to you:) A very Happy Easter to you, Jim and Ben:)

Shona, Gee poor Sophia she has had such a time of it! I hope she is feeling better today and all excited about the Easter bunny coming even if he has to hop through some snow:) I think every province has different rules for home schooling. What organizations would you have to join in order to home school there? I don't have any idea about our rules here either but I do know a few people who home school their children here.

Corinne, Very nice to see you drop by:) A Happy Easter to you, Les and your family. Drop by more often please. I miss you!

Den did the shopping early this morning and he said it was getting really busy out there
and that trying to find a parking spot was tricky b/c the parking lot was so full! Den is having burgers and fries and I am having salmon with a baked potato and a salad.

I hope everyone is ready for the Easter Bunny and that you have a great day!

Cute kitty! She looks like a Russian Blue with maybe some Siamese? We had a Russian Blue, she was such a cool cat. She was very affectionate but would also growl at the mail man. We always joked she was like a dog! ;)
Today will be left over soup. Pete woke up with a cold, much like Sophia's! He never gets sick! Ugh, I just hope the rest of don't get it, fingers crossed, knock on wood! :) The kids made giant snowmen in the yard after it stopped snowing last night. It is really heavy snow so perfect for that (we usually get dry powdery snow here). I really wish I was hearing lawn mowers instead of snow blowers right about now though! It is sunny and melting thank goodness!
    Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Hi all! Sounds like you got well rested last night Marie!! I bet you can't wait to have fresh tomatoes within reach...I know I can't!! If you do get a cherry tomato plant look for the Super Sweet 100's...they are the best!
    Hi Tina! :)
Yup Joce, it's crazy out there today!
Awww. snowmen sound like so much fun!! The most snow we have gotten was barely enough to make snow angels in. It only snows about once every 4 yrs or so. I'm not complaining though :)
Got Briauna her second pair of tap shoes this year, and at 80 bucks a pop it get's very annoying. I think the shoe place measures the shoe to the exact tip of their foot so that they grow out of them quick and you have to keep buying a new pair every few months. This time after they measured her foot I asked what size and told them to bring out half a size bigger..and of course they fit her fine with a little room to grow....
I actually bought the good parmesan for once and had heard that the rind is great to throw in soups...so I typed parmesan rind into the ingredient bar and this was the first to pop up Italian Wedding Soup Looks like I saved this a while back too! Still gotta make the carrot cake too...yum, the Easter Bunny is going to be a happy camper :)

    I'm back:)
Joce, we have the perfect weather right now to do some planting...it's staying nice in the evening as well, so we don't have to worry about frost...
I really like that pet store..we have to buy Halo cat food, cause Bribie cannot tolerate anything with additives, all the different "meals" and such..:-) Your dinner sounds so very good..Salmon is SO expensive right now, we haven't had any for a while..we like to pick up the large packs so he can smoke them in the summer..that's usually when you get the better deal:)

Thanks Shona:) Tippi adoped us..she was wandering around the neighborhood for a while, so I went door to door seeing who she belonged to...put up posters, ran newspaper ads, and took her to my Vet to see if she had a microchip..I just couldn't understand why a purebread would be without a home! So, now she is part of our family:) She is inside/outside, her choice, I did try to keep her inside only...she does take her naps and sleeps inside, which is a must living up here. I believe she's a Blue Point Siamese
    http://www.life-with-siamese-cats.com/blue-point-siamese.html
I still cannot believe you and Joce & Janet are still getting snow! Hopefully your Spring will be here before you know it!

Hi Michelle,We picked up a Juliet tomato plant, it's like a slightly larger grape tomato I believe..we didn't have much of a choice, the place had been picked over as far as cherry tomatoes went!

Oh yeah, that's right Marie, we both had cats that adopted us! She does look like a Blue Point Siamese, I've never heard of that one before. Her avatar pic looks so much like our kitty! http://www.cfainc.org/Breeds/BreedsKthruR/RussianBlue.aspx
Our cat, Shadow, was living under our house that we rented, she would meow like crazy at our door. We had another cat so I would leave food out for her, took pics and posted on-line, no one claimed her. After a few months Pete got a job far away so when we were packing up the house she jumped in the moving truck with our other cat and said no way we were leaving her behind! lol ;) She loved to be outdoors and unfortunately got attacked by a racoon or another cat we're not sure. Her wounds never healed and she passed a year a later. The wound kept getting infected and we found out after an autopsy that she had lymphoma which was why her wounds probably couldn't heal. She had a great life with us for 6 yrs though!
Hi Michelle, yikes the ballet shoes would get expensive after awhile! At least they're not as much as ice skates or hockey! Every sport is so darn expensive these days, I would totally ask for a bigger size too. It seems like I am always buying shoes for the kids! Yum, I love Italian Wedding soup, I buy the mini bow tie pasta to put in the soup, it's so cute ;)
Hey Joce, I missed your post earlier, sorry! I looked into it a few times here and it's so confusing! There's Christian and Catholic home learning which is easy to find, but I can't find a non-religious group. I did it through the BC home education which is part of the school system. Here it is separate. My neighbour home schools too, but through her church, you have to be registered, blah, blah, blah, just confusing!! I even talked to the Principle and Teachers about it and they can't tell me anything either. All I did in BC was register through the school and they sent me stuff and I could meet with a co-op group and still borrow books from the library and do gym time if we wanted too! When I get serious about it I will have to some major phoning around!
The Easter bunny is all ready over here, just filled the plastic eggs and ready for the hunt tomorrow! :)

Shona, funny you should mention your Russian Blue kitty growling at the mail man, Tippi growls at everyone who walks by the house, she also follows Rick around the yard..she's more like a puppy than a kitty:-) That's so sweet, Shadow wanted to go with you when you moved:) Your kitty did have a good life, so sad when they get sick..we had 2 cats before these 3 for over 14 years..we have to have them euthanized because they were so very ill..at different times about a year apart..I tell you, that was one of the hardest things we have ever done...I kept telling myself they had a very good life, and that helped a little to ease the pain of losing them.....

Wow on the Easter Bunny! Sounds like your Easter will be perfect:) I loved Easter when I was a young girl..we would always have pretty new little dresses to wear:) Usually my sister and I would have matching outfits! LOL And the Easter egg hunt! So much fun...ahhh, to be young again!

Lol Marie, that's why we named her Shadow because she would follow us around just like our shadow and almost get stepped on every time! We put a bell on her so we knew she was there! Funny Tippi growls too! I've had a few cat's, but never one that growled before, too funny! I was just reminiscing with Pete about how Shadow hopped in the truck the day we moved and he said "yeah, then Baghera (our black cat) hopped out of the truck and hid under the house". OMG, I totally forgot about that! So we had to drive the moving truck and car over the ferry to our new home because Pete had to work the next day, we could not find the cat!. It was about a 4-5 hour trip there and we couldn't wait any longer or we'd miss the ferry. So the next day, which was also my birthday, my dad and Colter (who was a baby) took the ferry back, drove to the house and it took me 2 hrs to coax her out of the crawl space under the house! She then pee'd all over me while I carried her to the car! I had to take the ferry back covered in Cat Pee, lol, oh my, what a day that was! ;)

Good Easter Sunday morning all, and Sat. night to you!
Tippie is so beautiful Marie. A really nice looking cat. Lovely pic. Thanks for sharing. Yum on you and your tomato plants. :)
    Hi Tina!
Thanks so much for the Garlic Soup Joce. I so appreciate it. Yesterday I had some fruit and toast for breakfast and then a bowl of Taiwanese Beef Pho for lunch and for dinner some sort of spring onion pancake roll filled with a asian beef mixture. I love "Hungry in Taipei". I followed her even before we came here. I'll check out those links. Thanks so much! :) Yours and Dens dinners sounded wonderful.
LOL Shona, @ your cat growling at the mail man. That's hilarious. Sorry to hear Pete's sick and I hope he gets better asap. That's odd the teachers and school can't give you leads on home schooling.
Good thinking with the tap shoes Michelle. I too had heard about the Parmesan rind in soups and have always wanted to try it. Infact I've even seen just the rind for sale in the grocery store.
We had a pretty laid back day yesterday. Walked around our neighbourhood. Hid a bag of Easter candy in Benjamin's closet at his apartment, had lunch and then met up with Benj after his classes around 5 p.m. He took us to the Hostel he moved into when he first moved to Taipei which was fun and then to the Raohe Night market, another temple and a clothing market area called Wufenpu where we bought him a pr. of jeans and a couple of shirts.
Just waking up and haven't had coffee yet. Have a good evening everyone!
