Sunset Saturday

    Good Morning everyone.

The sunsets have been beautiful here. Lot's of orange and color as predicted because of the Sahara Desert sandstorms blowing dust up into the atmosphere. I went outside to take a picture last night but for some reason my camera wasn't picking up the color well. I'm doing something wrong and will have to figure it out but laying in the grass a couple houses down were 3 deer, so peaceful and beautiful. Just laying there enjoying the cool grass and some quiet time. I think they are a mama and her 2 now grown-up babies.

It's going to be challenging to figure out what LD is allergic to Kimmer but I've got to try. He doesn't go outside in the grass either. The shot the vet gave is a newer drug, Cytopoint, came out in 2016. I'm not anymore comfortable with something new and probably won't get it for him again which is why I'll read my Dogs Naturally magazine and if I have to consult with Dr. Khalsa (a holistic vet) then I'll do that. I'm sorry to hear what happened to your furbaby.

It's the weekend so we will lay low and get things done around the house. Have to call DirecTV too because all the "On Demand" channels are out. Fun, fun. Not sure what I'll be making for dinner tonight but I have my eye on two recipes for IMI2 that look good.
    Spicy Kofta Shish Kebab
    Grilled Gyro Burgers

Morning Linda! The sky sounds beautiful! Too bad you can't get your camera to cooperate, they have so many different settings I can see how it's difficult. I'm sure you'll toy around with it and figure it out :) Poor LD, hopefully you can figure out what he's allergic to :( Yum on both of those recipes!

It's supposed to rain this afternoon, and overcast, but of course it's still as hot as ever. Bri and MIchael left early this morning to head to a softball camp. Since it's hosted by the owner of our team it's free. I will be picking Bri up early though to go to my Dad's house for a BBQ this afternoon. I don't want her doing too much anyway because of her foot. It's healing very nicely but don't want to push it.

I am making marinated veggie kabobs, and gaucamole as well as bringing some smoked jalapeno cheese sausage. There will also be beef and chicken skewers, grilled potato packets, grilled peaches and a fruit tray.

    Wishing everyone a great day!!

Hope you figure out the camera, Linda. I don't care for new meds either -- too many surprises when new ones are introduced. We had a gorgeous sunset last night. Decided the smoke from the fires out west were probably to blame. As usual, the predicted rain went South. Grrr! The grass crinkles underfoot and the fields are all turning brown.

Hope the softball camp goes well, Michelle.Yum on the skewers and guacamole.

It is a quiet Saturday. I just finished typing Council minutes and have to start the fire dept minutes. AC is outside, the rest snoozing on the bed. Fritz is hiding in his crate, he got scared when I used a tens machine on my back -- I think he picks up on the electrical output -- he is a cowardly little dog.

Yum on all the BBQ foods Michelle. I too would agree to have Bri take it easy and allow her foot to completely heal. You've come this far … go the rest.

I "googled" the new med Karen and don't see anything shocking but as you noted in years to come it may be another story. I hope you get rain soon and enough of it. So sad it keeps missing you. My least favorite job (when working) was taking minutes from meetings, that and filing.

We got a sprinkling of rain, just enough to make everything wet and humid. I'll continue on with my indoor chores, doing lots of laundry and will dust too. Made DH a turkey BLT for lunch and myself the BLT dip/mix and spooned it onto a piece of toast.

Hi Karen! Ugh on the lack of rain :( It hasn't rained here in about 2 weeks and of course it decides to rain on the day we are having a BBQ and a softball camp. So far it's just sprinkled so the camp hasn't been cancelled yet. Michael just called and said it looks like it may blow over, so we'll see.

She's taking it easy Linda :) Michael said she is not doing any running and just doing some batting and catching drills and resting in between. She mainly just want's to be a part of it as she has been missing so much the past few weeks. Going stir crazy I think!!
    BLT's sound so good!!

Good afternoon and hello to all. Hope you figure out what the allergy is Linda. It's frustrating I'm sure. Agree that Bri should take it easy and get all healed up. Hope your BBQ isn't rained out! It rained (hard) and stormed all morning long here. Which thwarted my getting the grocery shopping done early, lol. Oh well. Heading out soon to get it done. It's still drizzling here but no more storm.

Since it's a dreary, rainy day, going to make up another batch of tomato and tortellini soup with some yeast rolls. Easy and just fits the mood.

Making plans to go see Michael in Tennessee on the 24th. Last time I see him before he leaves for Alaska. And with that I will give you all the news that I had not shared yet as I was still trying to adjust to it myself. Michael is a daddy! It was one of "those" things and not with a woman he is still with. He dropped this bombshell on us the day before they went on the cruise. The kicker is, the child is already a year old. Michael was deployed right after he found out and didn't know how to tell us and wanted to tell us in person. And he was ashamed that he let this happen. I told him I'm not upset about the child at all, just the fact that he kept it from us for so long. So in a couple weeks I will meet my new grandson! He's very proud of the boy though and seems to be adjusting to being a father quite well. He looks just like Michael! Unfortunately, he is leaving soon :(

Hope all enjoy the rest of the day.

    Hi Everyone!

I too was taking photos of the Sunset last night Linda but my camera didn`t pick up the orangey-ness. :) Ugh on having to call Direct TV. Sure don`t envy you that. Both dinner ideas sound super yummy.

Have a great time at the BBQ Michelle. It sounds like a lot of fun and all the food sounds most delicious. Glad to hear Bri`s foot is healing well.

Enjoy your quiet day Karen and hope that tens machine is helping your back.

Soup and rolls sounds delicious Kimmer. Big congrats on your new grandson. That is quite a big surprise alright. Will you fly to Tennessee?

Poured all day today. Met a friend for coffee. She is having wife troubles and part of it is hat her wife is very jealous. I really don’t want to get in the middle because I was actually the wife’s friend first if that makes sense lol. But because she is so jealous She can’t have any other woman friends and I made the ok list because Frank and I have been “couple”friends with them for years. So her wife said I am ok to talk to.
Then grocery shopping. And took advantage of the tax free weekend and went back to school shopping with Rachel while Frank took her car to get new tires before she takes it back to college.
    Made homemade pizza for dinner.
Congrats on the grand baby Kimmer.

Hope your friend manages to get things worked out so everyone is happy Laurie. Fun on going back to school shopping with Rachel. Yum on Pizza.

We BBQ`d steak for dinner with a plate of sliced avocados and tomatoes drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with fresh ground pepper and black lava sea salt and some fresh green beans. Mom enjoyed it.

My girlfriend`s Mother died this afternoon. :( She`s doing okay but it`s such a sad thing. :(
