Testifying on Tuesday

Damn snow! Woke up to a winter wonderland again and it's March in the south. Time for Jack Frost to go away. It's 6 weeks 'till the last expected frost date.

I'm up putting seeds into the seeder tray and it's snowing! Sure glad I had all the supplies indoors.

Was going to get out and buy a couple three things for my tomatoes but not now until that white stuff goes away.

Still have left over spaghetti and can make some cheesy rice if necessary.

Flurries today, flurries tonight. Don't know about tomorrow. Go away Jack!

Same here, Points. Only our flurries that the news predicted would get a little heavier after lunch, but NOT lay, have been laying for an hour now. They are letting schools out. Temp is not below freezing, but the roads are slushy, if the temp drops it's gonna be a mess. Looks like a white out from my office window...it's really snowing hard and heavy. March 13. 1993 we had a big blizzard...14 inches in the valley (probably a record!), more in the mountains. And it has snowed here in April. Geeeeesh...I hope this is not gonna be a repeat year.

Probably good ole sandwiches with the leftover ham. Was thinking of going the potato salad route for a side, but that sounds way too summery for a snowy day, will probaby be SOUP! lol

Ang those stuffed peppers you made sound good! I like every color of pepper except green, but I don't see why any color wouldn't work...gonna have to give these a try.

Yeah, what is it with men and green peppers? Brad can't eat 'em either.
Man, I didn't realize it snowed so much in TN, Lori! We had the most unusually warm day yesterday for this time of year. It was 70ยบ in town and got up to 67 here! Not clear and sunny, just warm. Not sure what it's supposed to do today. Gotta run to Costco is all I know and that usually means torrential downpours! LOL
Made cheese and spinach stuffed shells last night with a cream of mushroomy, cheesy, chicken sauce - turned out pretty good, but I was informed by "HIM" that "white sauces are not his favorite" LOL But he sure seemed to eat it up! I tell you, the older he gets, the more persnickety he gets! LOL He might be down to bread and water soon....

LOL on the bread and water, Donna.
You got those shells posted? We would LOVE that!

It's not that it usually snows so much here, just this year! And it used to snow alot. We haven't had much to speak of since my kids were way little.

Pat I just sent you the recipe I found on a new website called "Back of the Box Recipes". Wow lots of interesting recipes.
Have to go to Costco this evening Donna. Hubby ordered glasses and they are in so have to get them fitted. Pick up a few things while I'm there. Then to K-mart to get our Iam's Lamb & Rice for the "Terrors". Found K-mart to be the most reasonable.
Then out to eat for a change. Since I have joined the ranks of unemployed - it will more than likely be Jack in the Box or Burger King.
When we loved in Colorado we would get snow up until May and as early as September. That's why I love the Pacific Northwest. Don't get too much of it here - just up in the mountains where it belongs.
    Have a rgeat day everyone.

Decided to change the soup and ham sandiwches to a potato soup with ham in it. Think I am going to try Ang's Neighbor's Potato Soup. Sounds good. I'm going to have to sub cream of mushroom for cream of celery...and since I don't do velveeta I will grate the colby jack I have in the drawer to be used up...but, I think those substitutions will work...can't wait to try it.

I'm sure you will do it right Sparow. Last time I made it I scorched the bottom so be careful!

Stuffed peppers were pretty good. Me and Steve were already talking about using a different colored pepper. Funny you all mentioned it.

Pat, I usually go to Bisquick.com and search for the oven baked chicken to find the recipe.

Plenty in the freezer but picked up some chicken legs anyway that are already thawed out. Wanna do another cornflake chicken. Depending on whether my sis brings me more sauce or not it might be the Chi Chi's again.

Thanks for the heads up, Ang. I've "scorched" more things in the last month than I have in 30 years. lol Bryan says I need to stay more in practice, and that won't happen...

The shells aren't posted, Lori. I just came up with it on the fly... Funny as much as he "doesn't care for" it, I have no leftovers! LOL I might post it, but I didn't take a pic. I saw that soup of Ang's, sounds good, but I don't do Velveeta either. So I like you idea Lori of the co-jack sub.
Val, Costco was a breeze this morning - maybe you should go NOW! LOL Made it out for under $200! Did finally buy some ham - bought the ham steaks in a 3-pack that I've been eying for months. The spiral sliced and Black Forest ones are just too big for us two. Oh, and they have a Cuisinart 11 cup Processor with dough hook, chopping/slicing blade and some other attachment for only $149.99. Oh course, I didn't buy it, but is it Diva that's looking for one? They also have the Cuisinart duet too. I think it was $69 or so...
Pretty calm out. Winter? What Winter?
    Laurie, What is Escrolle?
Not sure what I'll do for dinner, either one of the ham steaks or baby-backs (couldn't resist, but only got a two-rack one instead of the usual 3)

Maybe I am spelling it wrong Escarole, its that green stuff that they put in the "wedding soup" with the little meatballs. not to toot my own horn but I make a damn good escarole soup. So every time I make it I have to bring out Franks Nona's big ass pot! People come out of the woodwork. I made it sunday, and my friend Robyn, her husband, my sister, my mother and my sister's girlfriend all came over.
Can't believe I have any left over.

LMAO Lori! Know what you mean - sometimes you just know better than to say "WAIT, I've got to get a picture of this!" I'd get "the LOOK" and it wouldn't be pretty! LOL I will post it when I get a chance.
Oh, Laurie, I DO know what THAT is! LOL Kudos to you for making it so DAMN good! LOL

Enjoying my own early dinner. Brad came home starving around 4 (yes, once again went off w/o a lunch despite my nagging) So I made him all the bacon for BLTs and he ate 3 of them! I found myself a marinated salmon filet in the freezer - there was only one left, am having that with a nice plain salad of chunky cucumbers, tomatoes, and bell peppers drizzled with EVOO and lemon juice and a slice of that good Costco bread from their bakery - Rosemary/Olive Oil. LOVE IT!
