Tuesday's Travels.....

Good Morning Everyone! Just popping in quickly before I get breakfast going for our guests and pack up for the cottage. We'll head out after breakfast.

I've packed up some snow peas and carrot sticks, melon, sausage, assorted cheese and crackers and
    Curried Crab Pitas
    for a picnic lunch.

We'll stop in to Kawartha Dairy on our way by and grab ice cream cones for dessert.

For dinner this evening I'm going to roast some mini potatoes along with
    Chalet Style Chicken
and some more sauteed asparagus and a plate of tomato and avocado slices.

Hope everyone has a really great day!

Have a great trip to the cottage Janet! All your meal prep and plans sounds delish!! Ice Cream cones!! Yum!

It's the final week of school, and final exams. So it's study time, ugh! The worst time for me, lol. The kids have different pick up times, so I'm all over the place! Had a long session with physio on my back/legs yesterday. She said she's never seen anyone with as tight and thick muscles on their neck and shoulders as me, and now it's the same with my lower back and hips. So she worked it with deep tissue, and oh my gosh, I screamed out loud in a few places! It hurt so much! But I know relief will come soon. At least we both think the nerve damage has come from the last epidural I had. She felt around the site as I still have a scar there and it's all full of scar tissue. Hopefully we can break that up too. I thought that was the problem ten yrs ago, but every doctor said I would get feeling back after a couple yrs :/ The sciatic nerve was the painful one that had me yelping, lol, I have quite a few exercises now and hopefully once the tight muscles relax it will feel better. I am very sore and tender today and I will take it easy a bit. I desperately need food so hopefully between pick up times I can run to the store. I have chicken breasts to bake, but don't know what else to make with it? Probably just a salad I guess. Too early to think right now, Lol ;) Gotta run!

    Have a great day everyone!

Awwww poor you Shona hurting from your physio! I know that it'll all get worked out in the end but I sure do sympathize with you while it's happening. Good luck with study time and exams.

Have a super time at the cottage, Janet. Very smart of you to have everything prepped so you can relax with everyone else.

Sorry, you are hurting from your physio yesterday but as you say when they get those muscles to relax it will feel much better. I was always afraid of epidurals b/c I had heard horror stories about them. After all, they do put it in your spine. Try and relax today.

Last night was my GD Brianna's Grade 8 graduation which was done very nicely. She looked very pretty, however, she is only 14 years old and both me and her other Grandmother thought she looked more like 20 years old. Camden was there and she is certainly coming along just fine. We didn't get home until after 8:00 PM. So dinner was at about 10 p.m. We just had leftover pot roast made into hot beef sandwiches. We are probably having chicken something for dinner tonight. I should maybe do something in the crockpot so it is ready on time. Then poor Den won't have to eat so late tonight.

    Wishing everyone a great day.

    Good Afternoon Everyone.

Had to take LD to his dental check up this morning. It's about a 45 minute drive each way and then Dr. was running behind schedule. LD will have to go back in July (scheduled for the end of the month) for a cleaning and xrays and to see what might be going on under the gum line. He has two areas where the gum is receeding. Will relax a bit before heading back out to see DH. Plan on getting something to eat out late afternoon with him.

You are like a traveling caterer Janet. Wishing you a great time with your guest and visit with Jim's Dad. The dairy for ice cream sounds ideal, do they make their own ice cream? What's your favorite?

So sorry to hear you are in so much pain Shona. I HOPE the physio helps and you feel better soon. Any idea how long before relief? and will you always have to go to physio to work the muscles?

Wow Joce, that was a late night for you yesterday but big Congrats to the graduate! Awesome that Camden continues to do well and good to hear.

It just showered here for about 5 minutes, just long enough to make everything wet. Made myself a peanut butter and fluff sandwich for lunch and am washing it down with an iced (fake) coffee.

    Hello.
Love the traveling caterer nickname, Janet. Have a nice trip.

Too bad your physiology hurt so badly, Shona. Hope you are better soon.

Hi Linda ... fluffier utters are a good comfort food for.

Congrats on hyour nieces graduation Joce. I mean granddaughter.

Wayne's buddy and out daughter both texted that a prisoner escaped eight or ten miles from us as is still at large. A patrolman sat outside where daughter works, they blocked K Hwy, and his buddy goes armed to check our place. He is still at large. We will definitely carry and will be quite cautious when we do get home.

Stopped for a break and are now ready to leave again. Five hours to go.

    See you later.

I can answer your question to, Janet, Linda. Kawartha Dairy does indeed make their own ice cream and it is delicious! Happy Birthday to LD. Enjoy your dinner out later with DH.
Scary having an escaped prisoner in the area, Karen. I hope they catch him soon. Be very cautious indeed. Safe travels.

Good afternoon and hello to all. Very warm 91F here right now. Haven't seen any rain yet for us today Linda. But after yesterday driving/riding home in it........really don't want too, lol.
Have fun at the cottage and with your guests Janet. Sounds like you've got it all figured out as usual. Love the traveling caterer. Was thinking that to myself. So sorry you are in so much pain Shona and do hope you feel better soon and get it all worked out of you! Your schools get out so much later than ours. Good luck with the study time and exams! When do they start the new year? Good to hear little Camden is doing well Joce and congrats on the graduation. I have to agree with you, seems these 14 and 15 year olds tend to look soooo much older these days. Tell me, what's wrong with still showing your freckles and wearing pigtails and that age........tell me, lol!! Hope you had a lovely afternoon with hubs Linda. How does LD do with his dental appointments? Scary stuff Karen. Hope they catch the prisoner soon! I too would be carry ready when you get home!

Well, tis Tuesday so y'all know what that means. Yes, Cheese, glorious Cheese fondue for me. My fav! Hubs bought himself some sushi from the grocery store to have with. Not sure yet what the boys will have. They will probably opt for fast food as I think they may finally have a game tonight since it's not raining yet. They've had rain outs for several weeks now. Even though at times the rain had stopped they can't use the fields for fear of damage to them.

Hope all enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

You are so organized, Janet!! Have fun at the cottage.

Aww Shona, deep muscle therapy is painful. Hopefully she can get all of the knots and muscles straightened out and you will feel so much better. Almost everything goes with chicken breasts and I'm sure that you'll think of something yummy.

Young girls are looking older and older these days Joce. Wow, that's a late night. So happy to hear that Camden is doing well.

LD seems to have a lot of issues with his teeth, Linda. By the way, I've always meant to ask what LD stands for? Enjoy dinner with DH

An escaped prisoner is scary stuff, Karen, stay safe!! Safe travels.

Lol @ "glorious cheese" Kimmer. As always it sounds wonderful and I am envious.

The weather is dark and dreary here and it's cold for this time of year. I got caught in the downpour this aft, sigh. Work has been keeping me very busy, it usually starts to slow down at this point in the year but it's getting busier. It feels like fall so we're having stew with dumplings.

    Hi everyone.
Shona do you have fibromyalgia? Some of the things you describe sound similar.
Work is crazy lol. One of the businesses is a real estate brokerage which I run because quite frankly my boss even though he has his brokers license doesn't know how. Not really a big deal since most of the agents are flippers so they just use their license to buy properties and then sell when finished rehabbing. And we use the agency to do the same. That said we added a "team" of agents that do both listing and buying. This week I had two agents start and another contact me about coming in to work with us. Last night I get a call from a very busyagent that he is joining our brokerage and wants to be fully transitioned by the end or the week. Call him back this morning to start the process. He has 7 current listings and 8 that he will list when he comes aboard. Aye aye aye! I have two for sale signs and he needs 15 lol!!
Add that on top of the 5 active projects we have going on the rehab side. The property management side that one of our properties has a car drive into it on Friday and move the whole house a FOOT! Luckily we had vacant rentals the tenants could move into but that means moving their security deposit etc. and they decided to split up and go into 2 different properties.
I told my boss I may need an assistant.
Tonight is leftovers. We still have food from franks parents party on Sunday. I need to go grocery shopping. The cupboard is bare and I'm craving a banana lol

How frightening Karen that an escaped prisoner is at large. I'm sure they will catch him soon and hopefully by the time you get home so that you have no concerns.

Yum that the dairy makes their own ice cream Joce. Nothing beats homemade ice cream, it is so much better than commercially made.

The rain we got earlier was just a preview of the storm that followed Kimmer. It looks to be over now but who knows. LD's dental appointment went well but it was only for a check up and he is scheduled to go back end of July for a cleaning and at that time after xrays his doctor can determine if there are any compromised areas. Poor little guy has less than half his teeth now. I hope he doesn't loose anymore. I brush everyday too! Enjoy your cheese night.

LD could mean many things Bren ... Linda's dog, Little dog, Linda and Daryl, Little devil ... sorta like his personality. For 9 years LD's vets told me his teeth were great! He never had a cleaning either. I admit I didn't brush every night because I was told everything looked good (shame on me) and then about 2 years ago I just got a feeling everything wasn't right and contacted a specialist to see him and that's when I found out LD had stage 4 dental disease and so many bad teeth affected under the gum line. I was so upset that his dental issues were overlooked by his prior vets. There was no disputing the evidence, the dental specialists showed me everything and explained it all too. Stew with dumplings sounds wonderful!

Wow on how busy you are at work Laurie. Crazy about a car driving into one of the buildings and moving it. Lucky nobody was hurt inside.

DH and I went to Outback Steakhouse and split a grilled shrimp app, we both got Caesar salads, DH got crab cakes, and I got a burger that is sitting in my stomach like a rock and I'm thirsty because everything was so salty.
It's been a long day of driving so I'm going to relax for a bit. At least the sun is finally out.

Hi everyone! Just checking in. It's been a long day. Fun trip down. I know what you mean about young girls looking a lot older Joce. I know when we watched Jim's cousin's at their Irish dance competition, some of the girls really looked ahem ....shall we say...'Too' made up. So nice that you got to see Camden!

The Dairy we visited for ice cream Linda is called Kawartha Dairy and they do make their own ice cream. It`s VERY good. Everyone gave it a big thumbs up. Two of us had tiger tail, two had chocolate/peanut butter and one had chocolate chip cookie dough. Jim bought gummies instead. Tiger tail is my fave. :)

That is scary having an escaped prisoner in the area Karen. I know you guys are well armed though so you should be fine right?

Ugh on 91F Kimmer. I just couldn't bear it. NOM on cheese fondue.

Nice on stew Bren. Are you pleased work is still busy or are you hoping it slows down soon? I'm assuming you get busier though as the summer goes on or no?

Wow Laurie, you do sound crazy busy. Kind of nuts about the house moving a foot!!!! Saw your pics of the anniversary party on FB. Very nice. LOL @ craving a banana.

Sorry to hear LD is having trouble with his teeth Linda. Yum on your dinner out although sorry to hear the burger isn't sitting well. Crab cakes sound awesome.

Our picnic lunch went wonderfully well and the weather cooperated. We stopped in a fun mineral/rock shop near Bancroft and let the girls look around. One of them bought her birthstone....a lovely piece of amethyst. The guys stopped in to a local brewery and got some craft beer. We got here around 6. I was planning the Chalet Chicken for dinner and had left it in a bag in the trunk to thaw as we drove but it was still frozen solid when we got here so I nuked the burgers to thaw them out and we did that with pasta salad, a fruit tray and a veggie tray with Heinz '57 dip instead. It all worked out.

The mosquitoes are absolutely ferocious. I'm baffed. :)
