Cherry-themed 7-course Dinner

In honor of my friend Laura coming from New York and in celebration of spring, I based my menu on cherries. I'll just let the menu speak for itself. The first courses till the main course, I served with a pear cider. I had a fruity white with the goose, but I can't remember what it was exactly. ~First Course~ Mushrooms in puff pastries ~Second Course~ Portebello Mushrooms with a Balsamic Cherry Compote and Gorgonzola ~Third Course~ Wild Greens with dried cherries, gorgonzola, and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing ~Fourth Course~ Cream of Asparagus Soup served with Mini Crab Cakes ~Fifth Course~ Cherry Orange Sorbet as a palate cleanser ~Main Course~ Roasted Goose with a Cherry Sauce Balsamic Roasted Beetroot with Garlic and Thyme ~Dessert~ Lavender Honey Vanilla Creme Brulee After all that food, I had to roll my guests out the door! =P Actually, they weren't so full they couldn't eat everything.. you just have to watch the portions, and keep them small if you want them to eat everything.
