Turkey Mexican Cornbread Bake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 medium white onion chopped
  • 14-1/2 ounce can Mexican style stewed tomatoes with juice
  • 15 ounce can black beans rinsed and drained
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup frozen corn
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 11-1/2 ounce can refrigerated cornbread twists

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 then cook turkey and onion in ovenproof skillet over medium 10 minutes.
  2. Stir occasionally until turkey is browned then drain well.
  3. Stir in tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, corn and chili powder then heat to boiling.
  4. Immediately top with cornbread twists left in round shape pressing down gently.
  5. Bake uncovered 40 minutes or until cornbread is golden brown.
