New England Pierogi Dinner Recipe
A new spin on a traditional boiled dinner. I have been known to substitute 16 ounces shrimp for the sausage.

Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 head green cabbage, 8 wedges
  • 4 ears fresh corn, broken in half
  • 16 ounces kielbasa, smoked sausage, cooked ham or raw shrimp
  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 2 (12 ounce) packages potato and cheddar pierogi, cooked according to package directions.

Directions
  1. In large saucepan or Dutch oven, bring 2 cups water and Old Bay seasoning to a boil.
  2. Add cabbage, corn, meat or shrimp and 1 tablespoon butter.
  3. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Add remaining butter and cooked pierogi.
  5. Cover and simmer 5 minutes or until heated through.

I could see it with the shrimp... sounds good.. I hate it when people cook the cabbage to death... I am going to give this a whirl!
